Sassy - I want to ask you directly if it is your final decision that you are not supporting this website. If that is your decision, then I don't want to be a part of this anymore.

Sassy - I agree with Mrs. Meeks. I know it must be quite painful to read some of the nonsense that gets posted on this board. I'm sure, I myself, have probably said stuff that was hurtful to you and your brothers, in one way or another. I want you to know that it is NEVER my intent to hurt you. I want to see this case solved, for the sake of your little sister. For that reason, I try hard not to censor or judge much of the stuff that is written here.

Like Valley said in an earlier post somewhere, sometimes people say things, without even realizing it, that could provide an important key/clue to this case.

I do my best to throw out ideas and theories, anything to get others to start thinking and remembering......in the hopes that something will come up.

Please remember, that no matter what anyone says, including myself, that most of us posters on this board have only the highest regard for you, your brothers and the ones you lost.

Salem,
Thank you for your above post, Sheila I do believe most of us are here to help and we are all here because your story, as horrible as it is; has touched each one of us. I understand you are upset about some things that have been said and I don’t blame you, however when you get a group of people this big discussing something that we know little about; Ideas and thoughts (even bad ones) are going to come out. A lot of us are just tying to get familiar with your family and Dana because many of us never got the honor to meet them. I’m sorry you will not be a part of the board anymore but I thank you for talking with me in the past and helping me understand what your Mother, Brother, Sister and Dana were like. You and your family will always be in my thoughts and prayers and I will always be here if you need anything form me. Hope to see you come back someday but until then we will still be here trying to get to the bottom of this.
Take care Sheila
Jesse

Hello Richards mother, there was no way that I could bring up the topic , with out stepping on someone’s toes

But I felt it necessary to understand…. In my minds eye I see her as an average Teenage girl.

You can think of me as you wish , but it sounds better then a so called “drug rip off“.

So are you protecting someone ???? Or stopping us from trying to get to the bottom of this?

•Most very young teens have not had intercourse: 8 in 10 girls and 7 in 10 boys are sexually inexperienced at age 15.

• The likelihood of teenagers' having intercourse increases steadily with age; however, about 1 in 5 young people do not have intercourse while teenagers.

• Most young people begin having sex in their mid-to-late teens, about 8 years before they marry; more than half of 17-year-olds have had intercourse.

• While 93% of teenage women report that their first intercourse was voluntary, one-quarter of these young women report that it was unwanted.

• The younger women are when they first have intercourse, the more likely they are to have had unwanted or nonvoluntary first sex--7 in 10 of those who had sex before age 13, for example.

• Nearly two-thirds (64%) of sexually active 15-17-year-old women have partners who are within two years of their age; 29% have sexual partners who are 3-5 years older, and 7% have partners who are six or more years older.

• Most sexually active young men have female partners close to their age: 76% of the partners of 19-year-old men are either 17 (33%) or 18 (43%); 13% are 16, and 11% are aged 13-15.

im curious as to where you are getting this info and did you compare it to make sure it was accurate??besides statistics dont mean a damn thing. just another way to stereo type people. and there is more of a chance of her not falling into this statistic because no two people are alike. and considering the comments made by family and friends on here, if she was having sex (voluntary or not) they would have known about it.

PostPosted: Tue Apr 04, 2006 1:00 am    Post subject: Off Topic - Stats Reply with quote

Those stats are accurate(depending on what studies
you read). They wouldn't be the same in 1981
but all that stuff is true. It happend then and is worse now.
People don't want to think about those things. We
sweep them under the rug and pretend
they don't happen. But they do. The stats for domestic abuse are
staggering. 3 in 4 women are or have been in an abusive
relationship. Three in four. Think about that. And those
are the ones that are reported. Shitamachi(David, can't
you change that name?? Smile) makes a good point. It
shouldn't be taken personally. We all
throw out ideas. In fact, a lot is _not_ said on the board because no one
wants to offend anyone. A lot is said behind this board in
pm's, im's and chats. Why? b/c no one wants to offend or make anyone
feel bad. I think it's hypocritical. We aren't setting out to hurt anyones feeling's so
why can't we say what we're thinking? it doesn't mean it's true
or we think a person is bad. They are just idea's. Things to
make us think. Sheila did have a baby when she was a teenager.
So what? She is brave for going thru with it. Would have been brave
terminating it. She wasn't a bad girl and she's not a bad woman (from
what I can tell). She was handed the shitty end of a big stick
and she has been through more than any one of us can imagine.
I admire that she can get up every morning and function.
No one should have to go thru what she did, particularly as a young
person. (Justin too.)

Accurate statistics can be helpful. The operative word being "accurate".
One must be careful not to use them to stereotype people. An intelligent
person will ask questions (who did it, how big the sample, etc...). Then
decide if they can apply it to the situation. And then not automatically
believe it's true until they can prove it with evidence. Until it's proven
it's just information, nothing else.

I hope I don't sound like I'm jumping on you SweetPea. I'm not
meaning to. And I'm not directing this just to you.

If we want to every figure this thing out, we've got to be open,
honest and nonjudgemental. Or else what's the point?

~PP

im not saying that people shouldnt speak their minds on here. someones comment (rude or not) may trigger something for someone. all im saying is that the info needs to be accurate otherwise why bother mentioning it? thats why i asked if it was compared to other reports alike. todays info shouldnt be used because it wont compare to then and thus makes it inaccurate.

All I'll say is what does this have to do with the subject? Which is a triple murder and a kidnapping.

To get someone's trust, you have to earn it. All this does is undermine the discussion. Combine this with the phony "note" story, and it's beginning to look a little hopeless.

No, That is not possible. I'm not sure what the laws were like then on adoption, but I know in most states now, you need the father's permission as well.

Besides, shouldn't she be commended for saving the life of the child, instead of aborting it, which would have been much less "knowledge worthy"?

I think the idea was that, given we don't know what happend, was that maybe the father of that baby went to the house and Sassy wasn't there, an argument and fight ensued and the rest is history. And that would be under the assumption that it wasn't Marty and Bo. I think that's all they were trying to say. Right or wrong, just another idea. That's what we are doing here. Putting our heads together!

Mrs M, you didn't come on to strong. You've been great. (I hope I get to meet you next week!!Smile

And please, guest, don't start in on a discussion here about pro choice and anti choice. It is not the place. (I'll take you on in pm's but not here:)

Valley, I think it only has to do with the subject in that it's another idea. Since we have no idea what happend and esp why.

~All in my humble opinion, Pink Panther

Let me know when you get to town. Jesse'll be here
and Bluey hopefully. We'll have fun in the rain!
And don't worry. No one is going to fight or rumble or
be mean. There is no computer screen to hide behind.
We are all leaving our macho egos at the county line Very Happy

Mrs Meeks, you are a wonderfully diplomatic and understanding
