If this is a hoax (any designer could have made the pages with posts dating back) it's a damn good one. I went back starting from the beginning and it's really a very layred mythology.

So even IF it is a hoax, I've certainly been entertained.

That Sun Times related paper seems the most reliable source anyone's presented.

Not any kind of proof of course but interesting anyways.

Again just being refereneced. I found many like this. With the murders just referenced. You see that a lot actually of old murders unless it was serial related. Plus given the size of the town it's rather common for them to not get as much news print especially at that time.

I know this is probably a nitpicky thing, but here was one of my biggest clues that this was a Blair Witch thing. I'm not all that computer/chat board savvy, but I have NEVER been able to post on a site without registering first. I have posted from a few different IP addresses as a registered user and guest. I have even created a few alternative names and posted under those. The thing about those alternative names, I registered with phony email addresses. Totally made up. Every other site I have ever been involved in verifies your address before you can post. Not this site.
The other thing is, where I live, we have an unsolved missing persons case. It has been unsolved for over 20 years. When you type in one of the missing girl's names in google, three legit news sources and two legit govenment sources come up. You google Keddie and you get this site, other chat boards and the paranormal sites. I appreciate the fact that this site has been around for three years, but why only three? Why not prior to that? This site was registered in 2005. Once again, about the time Strangers got greenlighted. Still haven't seen that clip of the documentary. Is that going to get posted soon?
Strangers trailer now playing on tv. That's kind of ironic.

I've been reading for a few hours. This is my first post.

The above statement is making complete sense.

I myself have found the story captivating but in the last few hours the authenticity is lame & weak.

I think that people have a reason to feel offended (To be fair, we don't have nearly as much reason as the people directly affected by the crime) when something they've researched is referred to offensively and is said to be a hoax or a lie.

I understand that as of yet, you don't have a lot invested in this case. Time, feelings, effort, etc. Neither do I really to be honest. I've only known about the case for a few weeks.

All of us may have been able to get around this a little better, yes. I apologized for making you feel harassed. Sometimes I obviously let my frustration get the better of me (As I assume you probably did too threatening me), but I don't consider myself a message board "thug", considering this is one of the few message boards I have really used =p

If you want to jump on someone about being ofensive to surviving victims, then you should be jumping on the film makers who are using this case real or not to entertain the public. And if this is viral this message board could be part of it so these "older posts" could have been planted as well. It isn't difficult to put up post with altered dates to make it seem as though they have been around for years. Just open your mind is all, and that goes for both sides of the arguement.

Well I guess it's one helluva conspiracy then considering the newspapers that are involved as well. No there isn't a ton of information floating around on the internet about it but if you look not many newspaper archives go back that far. You would need to go to the library and look at the old newspaper articles. I'm guessing the Brenda Groene family murders must be b.s as well then. I guess that was all just a publicity stunt also. I'll let you explain that to the little girl that survived that one. You can find the keddie murders often referenced if you look up those muders because of the similarities. I seriously doubt that this story was made up in order to publicize a horror movie that really has nothing to do with the true story. In fact if you look at the movie you will find more similarities to some other murder cases versus the keddie murders. The unknown makes people more interested because of the mystery and there really isn't much known about the keddie murders considering how long ago it was and the news coverage. Those of you that are saying it's fake I would love to hear what other kind of conspiracies you believe in.

My post in case you couldn't tell was total sarcasm. In fact I post a few links of some of the actual news stories I found so people could read for themselves what happened and how ridiculous they are being. I'm just too lazy to sign in lol.

You guys obviously haven't even researched through the site or about the crime. How about instead of barging in and proclaiming that this never happened you would go back, read through the posts (Not just recent, but the WAY BACK ones), really spend some time looking up the crimes on the internet, and then make a decision, instead of making it seem like this website needs to somehow prove to you that it happened. Frankly, I think YOU are the ones being rude.

How would you feel if you were a family member, friend, or acquaintance of these people and 27 years after their deaths someone barged on to your personal message board because of some movie that's coming out and started telling you you're lying about your friend/family/neighbor's death and demanding that somehow you prove it to them?

I'm not in any way connected to the family, but it does make me very sad that this happened to them, and I think you guys are really doing the victims a disservice coming here and treating people like this.

Hello Missy....I know EXACTLY how you feel!!! Just stay strong...I have your back...even though you do not know me.

The thing is some of us HAVE gone back, and I spent about 10 hours yesterday into the early morning researching online, and there are only a handful of accounts ANYWHERE, and most of them eventually look like spoof pages or vague references. Contrary to what some folks are saying, the magnitude of this crime would have been quite documented by now, if only for it's similarity to three famous cases. The Wonderland Murders of the same year, The DeFeo murders in Amityville, and of course the Manson murders. Some sleuth somewhere would have put this all together well before now, and there should be quite a few references.

Instead we have a handful of people claiming things and naming names, but never providing any real solid evidence that these crimes were real.

The fact that they are not listed on Crime Library or Americas Most Wanted makes it even more suspicious. I've researched multiple lesser unsolved crime databases and come up with nothing. There is a small BLOG on the AETV site, but no story or other reference to the crimes.

I must say, as I already have, I'm finding it hard to believe that this was all made up after reading thru, but at the same time it's still just a handful of people, and NO multiple and major resources cited.

You cannot blame folks for being a little wary after the amount of spoofs we've seen since The Blair Witch thing happened.

It falls upon those who make the claims to provide evidence, and it has been refused. At least two people have said they have this documentary but refuse to share it. WHY? If you are so ferverently trying to,pardon the reference, catch the real killers, why NOT provide as much detailed information as you can?

Paid? What would I be getting paid for? I've said that I'm on the fence, and I could swing either way as to believing this or not, so I'm only on the side of truth, and truth and paid in full yet.

The only punk I see is someone refusing to provide valid information to a person genuinely interested to help solve these crimes. That would be you.

LOL>..ooooo...I'm so scared...what price am I paying exactly. This is an off weekend for me, I needed something to do anyway. Laughing

This conversation is now over, I say so.

Well, it wasn't even a conversation. That would imply intelligent thoughts going both ways.

Like I said, Kiss my ass, I don't jump through hoops for anyone anymore.

Marty , first of all if I'm wrong and these crimes did occur, I apologize in advance,

But you are correct. The regulars here aren't being very forthcoming with tangible information, and that does make it a 'crap forum'. Other than a couple people I met yesterday, pretty much everyone else are acting like vile little school children.

The conversation's over because my guess is you're a fraud. Even if this does turn out to be true you're a fraud.

I didn't ask you to 'jump through hoops'. I asked for tangible information. You did not supply it. Not my problem. I'm a reasonab;e person and well versed in investigation. I have made very samll and simple requests and been attacked instead of helped.

That.Is.On. YOU.

Not sure how it is all that similar to the Mason, Wonderland or Amityville murders other than the fact that there were multiple victims. The Mason & Wonderland murders were well documented due to the fact they involved famous people (John Holmes in the Wonderland case & Sharon Tate in the Mason Case). The Amityville murders became famous because Ronald DeFeo claimed to have been possessed & that was why he did it. After that the Warrens (both well known mediawhores) became involved & turned it into a circus.

The Cabin 28 murders did not involve any famous people & are similar to murders that happen all over America & don't garner tons of media attention due to the simple fact they are fairly common. It is sad but true.
