I'm happy to report that KOLO-TV in Reno is doing a piece on the Keddie Murders. They will be filming in Plumas, and it will air on Monday, the 35th anniversary of the murders. It will be on the 4:30, 5:00, and 6:30 newscasts. It's part of the Secret Witness program, co-chaired by KOLO's Senior Reporter, Ed Pearce, which has helped solve scores of crimes in the region, including 38 murders. It will also offer a $5000 reward for info leading to an arrest and prosecution.

The piece will also be added to the KOLO website sometime Monday.

Thanks go out to Sheriff Hagwood, Mike G, Mr. Pearce, and the Silent Witness program.

I just caught the piece and can say, hands down, it's the best I've ever seen on the Keddie Murders. And I mean that without reservation, and regardless of any mention of this site.

It's factually accurate- I didn't catch a single error. It's thorough, yet concise, and still quickly eats up about five minutes. It touches on so many things, and sticks to the victims, the history of the case, the recent explosion of activity, and the future.

It's also an emotional segment, which really brings it home as a whole. Near the end, Mike begins to answer a question, and gives a long, pregnant pause. The screen changes to photos, eventually fading back to Mike, and he's teared up, struggling to remain composed. I was teared up, too, because I feel similarly about this case.

So many of us do.

It was really very good, and I seriously love Mike Gamberg. I try not to wimp out much, but watching him made me a bit weepy.

Thanks for the kind words, 7S. It's been a team effort, even if the team's been a few times too many through the mangle.

As I said to the reporter, Ed, I wish I'd seen Mike's emotion over the case a long time back, as it would have melted many of the trust issues we had at the start.

I also watched the video. Wow..I agree, like others here, Seeing Gamberg get emotional made me get emotional. And it is so good that he is the person this case. The guy, I forgot his name, but the sherriff, I guess, seeing him talk to the camera, telling those involved, "Were coming for you", Wow, I got goosebumps!

I am so happy this case is getting the attention it deserves. Ive said it before, but Thanks to Dmac, Princess, Chi, and Im sure I forgot some names, but you all are doing a great job with this case and making a HUGE impact! Props goes to you all. Too bad you dont have the champaign bottle icon thingy LOL But you all deserve a huge applause.

I just got to see the report today, since I wasn't home yesterday evening....certainly the best news piece I've seen on the murders, for certain. Sheriff Hagwood and Mike Gamberg's dedication and determination to solve this case was really touching and inspiring to see, not only through their words, but the emotion and heart they displayed in their interviews. Well done!

In slowing down the video of this report, something pops out. At roughly 1:30, the camera takes a tight shots of IDs and papers on front of the case binder. The paper at the top right is a criminal record of Bo's. I don't know when the record is dated, but it mentions Bo had a scar on his thumb (from a cut).

It also states he had a 1+ year sentence we were previously unaware of for attempted robbery.

In 1956 he was sentenced to a year at a prison farm in Sacramento.

The only trouble is he was still in the Air Force, according to his military records.

560200 (est) Bo is stationed overseas, in Japan, for 11 months.

570107 Due to be released on 19 Feb 57, Bo is discharged from USAF at Parks AFB, Dublin, CA. Reason listed: "SDN-411 COG upon rtn fr OS para 3k, AFR 39-14". Separation Designation Number 411 means early discharge of overseas returnee, COG= Convenience of Government upon return from overseas. AFR 39-14 means the purpose of the discharge was so he would immediately re-enlist for another specific term of time. This discharge indicates he had been in service a total of 8 yrs 10 mos, with a total of 11 mos spent overseas. He was supposed to complete a full year overseas, but was returned home and discharged, then re-upped.
