The accuracy of some things, as if quoting documents I'm not familiar with, makes me suspicious of her sources and what info she came into contact with. Her timeline, which I will rename TIMELINE MK, is restored here in it's original, unedited form (other than I will flesh things out, if known and not harmful, by including my info [inside brackets])- dmac]

I compiled most of the case file excerpts into a comprehensive timeline. It isn't exactly the official timeline the PCSO has, but I thought it would come in handy to have the information in one place. I will be adding to it as Josh posts more stuff.

April 1979
After Sue left her husband, Jim, she drove to somewhere in Missouri where her mother-in-law lived. She stayed approximately two weeks and then came to Quincy.

May 1979
Sue and her children rented space 27A at Claremont Trailer Park, formerly rented by Sue’s brother, Don.
A man named Randall dated Sue two times while she lived at Claremont. He had not seen her for over one year at the time of her murder.

July 4, 1979
A man named Julian R. [Riviera] (cabin 20) attempts to rape a female neighbor of the Sharp family in Keddie.

October 1979
Lucille S. is Dana Wingate’s counselor at Foster Home until early in the summer of 1980.

1980 (date unknown)
The man [Dan French] suspected of molesting Tina Sharp moves to the Maple Leaf Bar in [actually 1 mile west of] Belden. (date unknown)
Dana Wingate is placed on probation, one year before the murders, for slashing $7,000 worth of tires at Nugget Motors. (date unknown)

June 1980
A man named David says that Johnny and a boy named Tim entered his house and stole a lid of marijuana on this date and again in December 1980.
A woman named Kathy [Goddu] and Chuck W. [Walke] move to Livermore after having lived together in Quincy.
Summer of 1980
A woman named [XXX- removed] of the Downtown Trailer Park says that her daughter did not stay with Tina after the summer of 1980. (summer 1980)
August 1980
Carl K. [Kautzer] and Michelle M. [Matosich] move to Keddie. One of the bar employees thinks Carl looks like one of the composites of the killers.

November 1980
Sue Sharp and her children move to Cabin 28 in Keddie.

Dates Unknown
Richard M. [Meeks] and Walter M. [Meeks] are seen at the Sharp residence two or three times. (between 11/80 & 3/81)
Joe [Baze] had been to the Sharp residence once. (between 11/80 & 3/81)
Sue Sharp takes daughter Sheila to Oregon to have a baby. Johnny stayed with Nina M. while his mother was gone. (between 11/80 & 3/81)

December 1980
A man named David says Johnny and Tim entered his house occupied with Rose B., a school bus driver, and stole a lid of marijuana (also stole one in June 1980). Tim’s father paid his son’s half but Johnny never paid his $25 debt. Johnny was with a guy named “Wolf,” who now lives in Portola. It was Wolf who took the marijuana, without Johnny’s knowledge, from Rose. Joe C. told Rose who was involved and Johnny and Wolf worked the matter out.

January 1981
Steve [McKim] left a duffel bag and contents and sunglasses with Banier Heater in Spring Garden, three months before the murders.
Phillip [Shearer] stayed at the Sharp residence once in January.

February 1981
Robert M. becomes big brother to Dana (two months before murders).
Joe [Baze] met Sue at the bowling alley about six weeks prior to murders. He saw her only two times, but talked to her on the telephone several times.
Steve M. and his mother came to California from Illinois to see relation Scott [McKim], who was living in a cabin near Twain. Steve later went to the Reno hospital as he is crazy. Steve does not have a car and he does not drive.
Julian [Riviera] goes to Mexico for a four-week visit.

February 28, 1981
Kelly [McKnight] Of Burlingame is visiting her girlfriend, Kathy [(Cathy) Finato], in Quincy and meets Dana Wingate. This is the only day that Kelly meets Dana, but they continue a relationship by letters and telephone.

March 13, 1981 (week of)
[Marty Smartt] (later referred to as 'Person of Interest', or POI), who is married to Marilyn and lives in Cabin 26 in Keddie, meets Dee Lake at the VA Hospital in Reno (see Part II documentary for more information). (week of March 13)
March 1981 (2-3 weeks before murders)
Jack, who lives across from the Wheelers, asked James [Seabolt] Jr. to get Sue so she could meet his friend, Daryl [Dareyl Josephson] (2-3 weeks before the murder)
Julian R. returns to his cabin (#20) in Keddie after a four-week visit to Mexico. (2-3 weeks before the murder)

March 1981
Daryl J. moves to Keddie four weeks before the murders and works for a D&B Tunnel gang for the WPRR.
Johnny Sharp and a boy named Patrick had reportedly been selling “black beauties” around the high school a few weeks before the murders.
The man suspected of molesting Tina Sharp sees Sue and Daryl J. playing pool with “Suede” at the Maple Leaf Bar, in Belden, the last two weeks of March.
Chuck W. and Kathy G. break up and Chuck moves back to Quincy.
Severin John “Bo” Boubede comes to POI’s to stay as they were planning a sales campaign for a business in Oregon.

Prior to April 11, 1981
Don Davis, Sue Sharp's brother, states Johnny smoked drugs and drank and fought a lot at school. To his knowledge, Johnny wasn't into heavy drug usage and he didn't have any unusually large amounts of money. (prior to April 11)
Dana Wingate bragged that his father provided him with all the dope that he and his friends could ever need, states Allen C. (prior to April 11)
Dana smoked some marijuana, but was not dealing and was not into heavy drugs, states Kimberly M. (prior to April 11)
Joel P. states that he knew Dana at school, but he only knew Johnny by name, and relates that they smoked pot but he didn't think they were into "acid." (prior to April 11)
Johnny and Dana rumored to have stolen ten sheets of acid from someone, advises Carla M. and Allen C. (prior to April 11)
Steve D. states that he "smoked hash" from POI on two occasions. POI would also front hash to people he trusted and POI makes hash. Steve D. has seen as much as a pound of hash in POI's house. (prior to April 11)
Jeri Ann R. stated that Dana associated with "low-life" dopers. Stated that Dana was "not passive, not an easy-going person, and would react when confronted." (prior to April 11)
Dana and an unidentified fat girl are observed talking to two WMAs at the Chevron station near the phone booths, states Thomas X (prior to April 11)
Bonnie X states that there is a cocaine problem in Keddie and there is supposed to be a man bringing it in from Paradise once a week. (prior to April 11)
S. said that he heard a commotion and observed a man running rapidly towards his van and flailing his arms about. S. thought at first that the man had killed a deer and was deranged, having smeared blood all over (the man's) clothing, face and hands. S. stated that the man "looked like something out of a horror movie, I'd never seen that much blood in my life. He was covered. Literally saturated. He was also freaking out. "He had so much energy it was unbelievable. He was flailing his arms every which way and screaming something at me." S. kept saying that he had "never seem a man with so much energy." He said that he (S.) was "absolutely terrified". S. said that "It couldn't have been his blood (the man's) there was just too much of it. One man would have been dead. Or in serious shock. Not acting like a raving maniac" S. did not observe any visible injury to the man. So did not think it was the man's blood. S. described the man as a WMA Approximately ??? tall. Medium build brown hair conventionally cut both short and long wearing Levis a plaid shirt and ??? shoes. The man did not have on a hat and S. doesn't ? remember him wearing glasses. The man was over twenty years old and less than forty years old. (possibly 04/10/81 0200-0300) Spring 1981 (prior to April 11) NOTE-IT WAS DETERMINED THIS HAPPENED LONG BEFORE THE MURDERS

Around February 1981 approx 10pm
Frank D. (cabin 13) stated that there was a hell of a fight between Sue and a man on a Friday night. Davis described the man as WMA, 35, about 4" taller than Sue, stocky build, and dark curly hair like an afro. Vehicle - 78/79 Chevrolet Blazer. White/green/white. (see Part II documentary for more information). (Around Feb 81, approx 10 pm)

April 1, 1981
Mike moves out of Cabin 13 (see Part II documentary for more information).
Robert M., Dana’s big brother, leaves to visit mother in Los Angeles.
Carl K. and Michelle M. move from Keddie. They were friends with Mike D. and Martell B., who lived next to the Sharp family. Carl matches the light-haired composite picture according to some sources and he drove an old green phone company type van (see Part II documentary for more information).

April 1981 (week before murders)
David E. picks up Johnny and Dana at the Exxon Station and gives them a ride to Keddie. (week before murders)
David R. of the Maple Leaf Bar says Daryl J. brought Sue to the bar twice the week before the murders, three days apart. (week before murders)
Alysa S. starts dating Dana Wingate. They only see each other at or around the Sharp residence. (week before murders)

April 9 1981
1:30 p.m.
Thomas C. sees same two WMA's at the FRC Softball field. asking for some "blow". They were in a white "older" ford sedan
Sue Sharp meets "Bo" at POI’s residence. Wade M. had earlier introduced POI to Sue.

April 9 or 10, 1981
FRC student Steven L. leaves his Keddie dorm room for Easter vacation. (April 9 or 10)

April 10, 1981 (time unknown)
The man suspected of molesting Tina Sharp moves to Hill Top Bonanza Ranch Park, Reno.
Chuck W. and Henry T. visit Mark G. in Livermore (for more information, see Part II documentary).
Cayse C. picks up Johnny and Dana hitchhiking and takes them to First and Main Streets, E. Quincy.
Sterling M. of the Foster Home trades boots with Dana Wingate.

April 11, 1981

Dee Lake goes to POI’s residence (cabin 26) to retrieve a .22 caliber rifle that he had left in his car. He left his car at cabin 26 a few days earlier so POI could use the battery.

9:30 am
Sue, Sheila, Ricky, Greg and Justin drive to Quincy. Sue drops Ricky and Justin off at ball practice at field adjacent to Gansner Park and then drives to the Meeks residence. Sheila walks to Alice T.’s residence (Alice is Henry T.’s sister).

Morning (time unknown)
Karl goes to the Morning Dew (Morning Thunder) to contact “Dana.” “Dana” is a WMA, 18-22, dark brown shoulder length hair, mustache, starting a beard with a space between the ends of the mustache and beard. “Dana” said he was picking up drugs at a party in Meadow Valley. (unk morning)

10:15 am
Sue telephoned Sheila at Alice T.’s house. Sue, Sheila and Greg then drove toward home. They picked up Johnny and Dana, who had been hitchhiking near Gansner Park.

11:00 am
Michelle C. arrives at Back Door Bar to bartend.
Richard M. says he was with Johnny at the Holiday Market from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm when one of the Doris’s drove up and let Dana out and then the three of them went to visit John B. (note: times conflict with Sheila’s, who says they returned home at noon).

12 p.m.
S. leaves S. at the parking lot of the mall and S. states that Dana was en route to Keddie hitchhiking. Approximate time: after 12:00 p
Sue, Sheila, Greg, Johnny and Dana arrive home in Keddie. Tina had remained home and was there upon their return.
Justin goes to the Sharp house and he and Ricky ride bikes until about 6:00 pm.
Eugene S. says he met Dana around noon walking toward town. They bought a six-pack and drank it while walking around town. Dana wanted to see Susan K. and the last time he saw Dana he was hitchhiking to Keddie (doesn’t match other statements).

12:00 Noon – 3:00 pm
John B. says Johnny and Dana came to his place between noon and 3 p.m. They left at about 3 and said they were going to the Foster Home and then to Keddie (matches Richard M.’s times somewhat, but conflicts again with Sheila’s times). (noon-3pm)

1:00 p.m.
Donna W. says she picked up Johnny and Dana at the Roadrunner/Big O tires. and took them to Exxon. They said they were going to Johnny’s. They tell Donna that they are going to the foster home and then to Keddie. (afternoon)(Donna’s statements not always accurate).
Chuck W. advises that he and Henry T. went to Springtown to visit W's girlfriend, but she wasn't home. W said that they then drove around some and went to Caren G.'s house and visited with her for a few minutes outside. Approximate timeframe: all that is written on the timeline is AFTERNOON.
Chuck and Henry, after arriving in Livermore, went to Mark G.'s house where they drank some beer and visited with him, states Chuck. (afternoon)
Chuck and Henry visit with Kathy G. for about thirty minutes, outside her residence, states Kathy. (afternoon)
Chuck and Henry leave Kathy G's residence and go to Mark G's house in San Ramon. (afternoon)
Chuck and Henry leave Livermore en route to Keddie. Chuck stated that they returned to the Quincy area alone.

1:30 pm
Johnny puts on a purple jogging suit with white stripes and headband. Dana is wearing the same thing. Both hitchhike to Quincy.
Sue goes inside to watch TV. Sheila was outside talking to Alysa S. and Tina was in the Seabolt cabin.
Sheila said that she, Ricky and her mother picked up Johnny and Dana at Gansner Park and drove home. Approximate time: 1:30 p
Johnny and Dana start hitchhiking into town, states Justin. Approximate time: 1:30 p
Richard M. states that he, Johnny and Dana visited John B. at Brown's Trailer Park. (afternoon)
"Sparky" 175-200 lbs, brown straight collar length hair. Wore blue jeans and a Harley-Davidson shirt and jacket. He was at John B's home with Richard M, Johnny, and Dana (1:30 p - 2:00 p)
Johnny and Dana leave the B. residence. They tell John B. that they are going to the foster home and then to Keddie. (afternoon)

2 p.m.
Donna W. stated that she was at the Exxon store on Crescent Street buying something and saw Henry T. there. They said hello to each other and left. Donna said Henry was driving his small red truck with the camper on the back. It was parked on the side of the store. Donna said Henry was buying food and was going to Gansner Park. Approximate time: 2:00 pm.
Late afternoon

3 p.m.
Paula S. and Tina are walking to the store and see a small brown car with stripes. Tina recognizes her mom in the passenger seat and waves it down. Paul recognizes the driver as Daryl J. Sue said they were going to Daryl’s house. Paula is sure it is April 11 because she “later” saw Sue, Johnny and Dana cleaning up the front yard. (late afternoon)

3:45 p.m.
Joe B. leaves Quincy for Susanville and Standish. Approximate time: 3:45 p

4:30 p.m.
Johnny and Dana arrived at foster home, advises Vernal M. Approximate time: 4:30 p

5 p.m.
Walter M calls the Sharps for Johnny. Sue said that Johnny was at the foster home with Dana. Stated Nina M. Approximate time: after 5:00 or 6:00 p
Sue, Ricky, Greg and Justin had burritos for dinner. Ricky, Greg, and Justin ate in the kitchen. Sue was on the couch in the living room.
Sheila goes to the Seabolt residence and spents the night.

5:15 – 5:30 pm
Ricky and Justin go outside and play “ditch” with Paula S. and Casey.

Early evening
5:50 pm
Johnny and Dana left the Foster Home after a visit to go to Kathy B.’s for a ride back to Keddie.

6:00 pm
Daryl J. says he stopped at the Maple Leaf Bar enroute to Paradise to visit his ex-wife, and stayed for Clamper’s function on 4-11.
Alysa S. started cooking dinner at the Seabolt residence and Sheila remained there and ate dinner with the Seabolts. (early evening)
Justin and Ricky quit riding their bikes and go into the Sharp residence.
Margaret F. was at the Keddie restaurant with her husband, and had gone up the stairs to use the bathroom when she met a WMA. He was very nervous, first up and then down the stairs. He was 5’6 to 5’9 with a neatly trimmed mustache, tan dress hat, blue jacket, tan trousers. He appeared to be in his forties, was bleary-eyed, but was not drunk.
Robert P. and Bobby W. see Johnny and Dana in front of Plumas Motor Supply. Dana is carrying a large brown shopping bag. Johnny is wearing a red bandana.

6:00 – 6:30 pm
James Jones (Cabin 11) sees a flat black truck or van park next to the propane tank west of his house. The vehicle is a ’57-58, old paint, rounded shape, medium size half ton with no windows in back. The driver is 27-28, 6’, or taller, slender, with dirty blonde hair. (6-6:30 pm)

6:30 – 6:45 pm
Johnny and Dana arrived at Kathy B.’s apartment in East Quincy to get a ride to Keddie. (6:30-6:45 pm)
Johnny had a week-old black eye and was wearing a red bandana and Dana’s blue vest. Dana gave himself an insulin shot while there. Neither was intoxicated. (6:30-6:45 pm)

6:30 – 7:00 pm
Luclia S. sees Dana coming from the area of FR apartments. He was wearing a blue with wide tan striped shirt, light cord pants and a cowboy hat. (contradicts other statements). (6:45-7:00 pm)
The driver of the van parked west of James J.’s cabin (#11) returns and leaves in the van. (6:45-7:00 pm)

6:45 pm
John G. sees Dana and Johnny walking toward Lawrence Street.
Dale M. , Blaine G. and Phillip S. go to a square dance class at FRC.

7:00 pm
Margaret D., cabin 4, goes to work at the Keddie restaurant kitchen.

7:30 pm
Tina came home from the Seabolt’s and washed the dishes and returned to the Seabolt’s.
Ricky and Justin quit playing “ditch” after about two hours and go back inside the Sharp house.

7:30 – 7:40 pm
Kathy B.’s mother called her for dinner and the boys said they would hitchhike. (7:30-7:45 pm)

7:30 – 10:00 pm
Carolyn C. was at the Mt. Hough party and did not see Johnny or Dana. (7:30-10:00 pm)

8 p.m.
Joe B. is in Susanville spending the night with Helen J. States Helen. 8:00 p
Thomas S., 23 years, Cabin # 14. His house is south of the Sharp house. He and his family came home approx. 2000 hrs. As he was entering his house, he looked toward the Sharp house and saw a female doing dishes in the kitchen sink. He stayed up until 0200 hours, but didn't hear anything unusual in the area.
Johnny and Dana are seen hitchhiking by the Exxon by William and Stephen G. Between 8:00 and 8:30 pm.
Johnny and Dana are seen hitchhiking in front of Exxon by Dana H. Neither appeared to have been drinking. Approximate time: between 8 and 8:30 pm.

8:15 p.m.
David E. observed Dana and Johnny walking towards Keddie from the Exxon station. 8:15 p.m.
Betsy U. sees Johnny and Dana hitchhiking on Hwy 70, just past the Exxon in Quincy. Betsy U. stopped and talked to Dana and Johnny as they were hitchhiking to Keddie from the Chevron station. Approximate time: 8:15 pm.
Sheila returns home to get her night clothes. Sue mentioned that the boys had gone back to town, states Sheila. Sue was lying on the couch. The Barbara Mandrell show was on, and Ricky, Greg and Justin were there. Sheila returned to the Seabolt’s 10-15 minutes later.

8:30 pm
Greg goes to bed about 8:30 pm and sleeps on the bottom bunk.
Ted K. and Beverly M., cabin 5, went to bed.
Paula V., cabin 18, goes to bed. She usually lets her dog inside, but this night she left it outside.
Tina goes back over to the Seabolt's and watches TV.
Ricky and Justin come into the Sharp house after playing outside and started to watch TV. Sue and Greg were there when they came in. His mother Sue Sharp and his brother Greg started watching TV. Approximate time: 8:30 pm.
Joey C. states to Cathy C. that he had picked up Dana and Johnny near the Exxon mini market on Crescent Street and had driven them to Keddie. Approximate time: "Night"
Yvonne W. sees an older light grey station wagon, make unknown, parked off the paved area, down in the dirt, behind the Back Door Bar. It was parked with the front end toward the hotel. It was there when Yvonne arrived and still there when she left.

8:30 -9:00 pm
Don F. attended a party on Mt. Hough with Jack G. and Carol C. Did not see Johnny or Dana. (8:30-9:00 pm)

8:45 – 9:00 pm
Dale “Wade” M., Blaine G., and Phillip S. leave FRC. Phillip is drunk, so Dale drops him off at the Methodist Church where Phillip was staying. (8:45-9:00pm)
On 4-11-81 Phllip was at Feather River College, in a fairly intoxicated state. About 2100 hrs Wade M. gave him a ride to the Methodist Church. After being there for an undetermined time, he decided to go to the Exxon Mini-Mart. While at Exxon he met up with Johnny and Dana. They were getting a ride from three people in a pick-up. The pick-up was described as between a 1954 and 1957 Chev., dark green with something similar to a roll bar in the back. He said one of the men was named POI, and lived at the end of the road in Keddie. He owns a small red station wagon (this matches the description of POI). Phillip did not know the other two men. After arriving in Keddie, Phillip said that while looking through a window of the Sharp residence he saw Johnny get his throat cut, Dana get hit over the head with a hammer, and Sue being choaked [sic]. Phillip said that at one point he ran to the Keddie Back Door Bar where he saw a man that was locking up the bar. He tried to tell the man what was happening. The man got into a blue car that looked like a Mercedes, and drove away. Phillip returned to the Sharp residence to try to help Tina. At one time he was hiding under the house and he scratched the license number from the pick-up onto the hot water heater. Phillip told of a long fight that ended up at Ganser Airport, where he got away. The three men still had Tina.
[Police report, unknown time] 81-1456 - 664-261PC Suspect: Phillip S. Suspected of attempting to rape [name withheld] of Greenville on 4-2-81. Also later admitted to being at the Sharp residence during the homicide. Subject shown to be 5150 and made up story about being at the Sharp residence. 664/261 PC still pending in Greenville case. No apparent connection with this subject and the Keddie homicides.

9:00 pm
Tina went home from the Seabolt residence at the conclusion of the Barbara Mandrell Show on TV.
Mrs. Meeks telephoned Sue and said Johnny and Dana would be home later. Sue was wearing a towel robe (see pictures in Part II documentary).
Pearl and Paula S. sees a green van parked around/in front of the Sharp house about 9:00 pm, after dark, but she did not see anyone around it.
Donna W. is in Tami S.’s car with Debbie E. and Penny W. They are going from Gansner Park to the Mineral Building when Donna saw Johnny and Dana hitchhiking toward Keddie by the Exxon station.

9:00 pm (sometime after)
Sue Sharp puts on a white robe with blue and yellow flowers. Loveboat was on TV. Sue, Ricky and Justin watch Love Boat on TV. Time: 9:00 pm.
Marilyn advises that her husband, POI, kept saying that he was going to have to line up "Bo" with a woman. She stated that, "Sue is alone and all the kids are probably in bed" and she would probably like to go along. Approximate time: 9:00 pm.
Sue receives a call from Johnny and Dana. They would be home later, states Ricky Sharp. Approximate time: 9:00 pm.
Dana and Johnny are hitchhiking toward Keddie by the Gold Pan Motel, states Donna W. Approximate time: 9:00 pm.

9:00 – 9:30 pm
Tina asked James Seabolt, Sr, what time it was and then she went home, stated Seabolt. Approximate time: 9:30-9:40
Tina comes home from the Seabolt’s and goes to bed. Tina was wearing a blue t-shirt and blue jeans. Ricky later says Tina came home about 9:45 pm. (9:00-9:30 pm)
The Sharp’s telephone rang, and Sue said, “Who is this?” (9:00-9:30 pm)
Johnny and Dana are picked up at the Exxon by Steve D. and are driven to the park near the airport looking for a party. Dana appeared to be drunk and told Steve he had been drinking something other than beer. Johnny, Dana and Steve drove through the park but did not see any parties. Steve stated he saw a brown car with two males, ages 21-30 years, with short to average length hair, parked in the park. Steve then dropped Johnny and Dana off. Approximate time: 9:30-9:45 p.m.
Johnny and Dana are observed hitchhiking in front of Van Gas near the Exxon station by Jackie A. Approximate time: 9:30 p.m.
Anonymous citizen said that he had heard rumors of an acid party in Keddie fives doors south of the store, and if there was an acid party in Meadow Valley it would be at Roger S's residence. (evening)
Rodney Sidney L. states he heard there was a party in Keddie but he didn't know who had the party. (evening) <Shanks>
10:00 pm.
Jackie heard that Johnny and Dana might have been in east Quincy to score some grass.
In an interview conducted on 2-7-85: Donna W. sees Johnny and Dana hitchhiking between the Gold Pan Motel and the Exxon market at around 9:30. Donna stated that she picked Johnny and Dana up and drove them to the Keddie turn off where she dropped them off and then she returned to Quincy. Approximate time: 9:30.
Ricky said the telephone rang. it was a call for his mom. His mother said, "Who is this?"
Carl S. was told by Pete T. that Pete's daughter, Kathy, told him that a 17-year-old boy with the last name Joy or Jory had picked up Johnny and Dana and took them to Keddie. The 17-year-old boy had either seen or was told about a fight between Johnny and Dana and two Indian males. The Indians had supposedly said that if they did not get what they wanted, they would kill Johnny and his family.
Ricky said his mother was lying on the couch watching TV and was wearing a towel robe. She was also wearing her glasses.

9:35 p.m.
David E. and Joey C. drove into Exxon mini market to buy some food. On the way out Joey saw Dana and Johnny hitchhiking near the Van Gas building next to the station. David stopped and talked to Dana and Johnny as they were hitchhiking at the Exxon station. They wanted some grass or beer and a ride as they were going to Keddie. David told them he didn't have enough gas to get to Keddie and back so he didn't give them a ride. David states he could not remember what Johnny was wearing, but remembers that Dana had on his blue windbreaker jacket with red and white stripes on the sleeves.
David E. and Joey C. leave the Exxon and see Johnny and Dana hitchhiking near Van Gas. They stop and talk for 5-10 minutes. Dana asks how the party is going on Mt. Hough. David believes they were at the party earlier, but did not see them.

9:45 p.m.
David E. said John and Dana went back to hitchhiking at the Van Gas building. Approximate time: 9:45 pm.
Tina was wearing a blue shirt, blue pants and tennis shoes before going to bed at this time, states Justin. Approximate time: 9:45 pm.

Vicky (last name unknown) told Lucie S. that there was a party located "coming from Quincy, across the first bridge before getting to Keddie." The party was "somewhere back of there." (evening)
Janey S. states that Renee Wingate had told her that there was an acid party in Keddie.

9:30 – 12:00 a.m.
Karl S. leaves Greenville at 10:00 pm and goes to a party at a trailer house in Meadow Valley. Saw “Dana” and his partner and a dark sedan with San Rafael license bracket and a little brown car. Says there was a keg of beer at the party. Saw what he thought was a drug deal going down. All six persons left the party in the two cars. He says he followed them to Keddie. In a later interview he says the party was a week before and gave other inconsistencies (note: the “Dana” above is not Dana Wingate).
Karl S. leaves the Greenville show and drives to Meadow Valley. He sees “Dana” and another man, “John” or “Jake,” and inside were two WMAs, well dressed, and two other WMAs. The six got into a dark blue LTD and a small car and Karl followed them to Quincy and then to Keddie. (9:30-10:00 pm)
Karl S. states that he saw Johnny Sharp and Dana Wingate at Roger's party in Meadow Valley. He states that he had seen both boys about town before. That's how he knew them.
Karl S., while at a party in Meadow Valley, saw a "dark colored nice car" with "San Rafael" on the license plate holder. Two clean-cut men with photo-ray glasses were apparently selling dope from the car. Karl said that Johnny and Dana were at the party. He knew the boys from around town. He also knew Tina and Sue Sharp. The dark car and a small tan car left for Keddie possibly with the boys.
Karl S. stated that on the way to Keddie the dark Sedan had a flat on the left front wheel. The car had a square rear end with "San Rafael" on the license bracket. Just before Karl got to Keddie he saw the little brown car parked to the side of the road.
The brown car drove past the Sharp residence, then turned left down the hill. Karl doesn't know where it went. He didn't see any car lights anywhere. Karl stayed for about 15-20 minutes, then drove past the Sharp residence. The black car was still parked in the same place. There was a yellow bug light, which was lit, on the front of the Sharp house. He didn't see the brown car again.
Karl S. follows the two cars from Meadow Valley to Keddie. The blue LTD parks in front of the house just south of the Sharp residence. The small car went past the Sharps and turned left. Karl then drives his blue and primer ’67 Chevrolet van across the bridge to the pond and waits for the vehicles to come out. He waits long enough to smoke a “joint” and then leaves and drives to the Pioneer Bar in Greenville. He also admits making up parts of a previous statement to a deputy.
Karl S. stated that he followed the two cars to Keddie in his van. The blue LTD or similar car was parked in front of the residence just south of the Sharp residence. The light-colored small car drove past the Sharp residence and turned left. Karl drove past the blue car and the Sharp residence. He saw that the inside lights were on and the curtains were drawn and the orange porch light was on the front porch. Then Karl turned down the same street as the smaller car and he couldn't see it anywhere. Karl drove to the pond across the bridge and parked there to wait for the vehicles to come out. The vehicles never came out, so he left and went straight to the Pioneer Bar in Greenville. Approximate time: midnight. Reported to Stoy and Wright.
Karl S. stated that on his way back to Greenville was when he saw the black car with the flat tire. He thinks this was the same car he had seen the week before at Meadow Valley. When he got to the Keddie exit, he saw the small brown car parked just east of Keddie. This car was small, like a Vega, Datsun, or something similar. He thinks this is the same car that was at Meadow Valley the week before. Approximate time: 11:00-11:30 pm.

Ricky and Justin go to bed after watching Loveboat. They talk for ten minutes and Ricky goes to sleep. He says he did not wake during the night.
Justin confirms that he and Ricky went to bed after Loveboat at 10:00 pm. He slept on the top bunk and Ricky slept on the bottom bunk. Fantasy Island was on TV when Justin fell asleep.
Larry A. stated that he was with T. W. , Wendy V., Michelle S., J. W. and Vaughn R. and saw Dana and Johnny walking by the Chevron station. Andrea said he and F. checked the time on the Placer Savings clock and it was 10:00 pm. Dana and Johnny did not appear to be drinking.
Marilyn S. said that she and POI and Bo went to the Back Door Bar. Approximate time: 10 pm
Bo and POI and Marilyn walk past the Sharp residence on their way to the Back Door Bar.
POI stated that the only thing he noticed was that the street in front of the Sharp residence seemed to be darker than usual.

Approximate time: 10 pm to 2 am
Paula V. (cabin 18) is awakened by her dog barking toward the vacant lot behind the Sharp residence. She looks at the clock and goes to sleep.
Richard M. goes to the arcade in Quincy and meets Angus L., Steve D., and Mike H.
Steve D. arrives at the arcade and tells Richard M. he had just given Dana and Johnny a ride to the park and then back to the Exxon.
One man left the Back Door Bar. Nancy D. described him as a WMA, unclean, 5’6, under 150, dark brown hair, stubble on face and possibly a mustache, wearing a floppy faded denim hat, faded blue jeans, and blue jean jacket.
Timothy D. left the Backdoor Bar and saw a van, dark color, square-shaped, parked across the bridge by the pond on the right side. En route to Keddie he saw no one walking or hitchhiking. After leaving Keddie he saw only the van. Approximate time: 10:00 pm to midnight.

10:10 – 10:15 p.m.
David E. and Joey C. drive back past Van Gas and see Johnny and Dana again walking toward Keddie. (10:10-10:15 pm)

10:30 p.m.
Joey C. said Wendy H. saw Johnny and Dana on First Street. Approximate time: 10:30 pm
Donna W. tells ??? that she, Donna, picked up Dana and Johnny in front of the Exxon and drove them to Keddie. About 10:30 pm
Donna W. states that when she saw Sue Sharp at the Sharp house, that she was dressed like she was ready to go out.
Dana G. attends a bar-b-que at Dan W's residence and leaves with his roommate, Barry G. Approximate time: 10:30 pm - midnight..
Barbara W. (L.N.U.) told Kathy T. that she observed Dana at a party. (prior to 11 pm)
POI heard street talk that a large amount of weed and acid had come into Quincy and heard of some kind of drug party that night somewhere in the area.

10:50 p.m.
POI observes two subjects, described as white males, bearded, "hippie types," leaving the Backdoor Bar and getting into an old pickup truck. Approximate time: 10:50 - 11:00 pm.
Johnny and Dana may have attended a party at George J.'s house at the Evergreen Trailer Park, states an anonymous source.

James Seabolt Jr. goes to bed. Did not hear any noise or vehicles on the street.
Zonita Seabolt (mother) goes to bed.
Sheila Sharp goes to bed at the Seabolt’s.
While enroute to Keddie with Connie B., Kevin B. sees Johhny and Dana hitchhiking toward Quincy.

Dana and Johnny are at a party at Brian C.'s house in East Quincy on Lee Road. Drugs and alcohol were consumed at this party.
Two unidentified male subjects from Oroville are at Brian C.'s party. Subjects are described as "weird types." One subject was driving a black pickup truck with red stripes on the side and the other subject was driving a small, tan, compact vehicle, possibly a Ford Pinto.
Brian C. said that Danny S. took the keg over and the stereo over to Brian's and then Danny took the stereo home after the party.
Danny stated that the party at Brian's didn't materialize, so they drank the keg and played cards at his house next door (stated in an interview on 2-7-85 to Wright).
Clyde (?) S. related that he had a party at his residence on Lee Road. S. states that Steve D. was at his party. S. does not believe that Frank A. was attended the party. <Leonard>

11 p.m.
Art J. (Cabin 11) said he walks from his cabin, went back to the resort/Backdoor bar and bought two beers and then returned home with them. Approximate time: 11:00 - 11:30 pm
Kenneth M. said Ken T. and Dan R. told him they saw Dana and Johnny on Meadow Valley Rd. Approximate time: 11:00 - 11:30 pm

11:10 p.m.
David and Joey made one more pass through town. They went by Exxon again, but did not see Dana and Johnny hitchhiking as they were no longer there. Approximate time: 11:10 pm.
Connie B. had gone past the Sharp's and thinks a light was on in the residence. Approximate time: 11:10 pm.

11:15 p.m.
Two unidentified male subjects knocked on Margot B.'s apartment, # 208, at F.R.C. apartments, asking, "Where does J.R. live?" Date: 4/11/81. Approximate time: 11:15 pm. Subjects described as looking "wild and ragged, with wild looks in their eyes." Both had parts down the center of their heads. One was short with a mustache and the other was tall and clean-shaven. Geramie R., known as J.R., said she had no idea who the two men matching the composites might be or why they would be asking for her. She says she uses "coke and marijuana," but never had any for sale. [reported to Dennis Forcino. During the filming of the documentary, Forcino chose not to participate. The filmmakers were told by several of the ex-cops that Mr. Forcino left the force due to the struggle and/or personal trauma of working on this case].

11:30 p.m.
Frank A., Jr., observed three people walking toward Keddie past his residence. The two in front were short, and the third following behind was a male and approximately 6' foot tall. Approximate time: 11:30 pm. Reported to Leonard.
Jan A. said that the light in front of the Sharp residence was normally on. When her brother-in-law, Les H., passed the Sharp's, both front lights were off. Approximate time: 11:30 pm. Reported to Crim.
Donald Davis drove past the Sharp's. He didn't see any lights on inside and he doesn't think the outside lights were on either. Approximate time: 11:30 - 11:45. Reported to Crim.
Unidentified male states to Allen C. that he didn't notice anything unusual at the Sharp residence, except that a truck was parked there. Approximate time: 11:30 - midnight.

Danny S. maintains that he doesn't remember being at Brian's party, but said that he had been drinking a lot that night and that could account for his loss of memory of the party. Danny said he remembers the keg and the stereo and playing cards at his house until around 4 in the morning, but no party. (interview 2/7/85)
??? S. related that he had a party at his residence on Lee Road. S. states that Steve D. was at his party. S. does not believe that Frank A. was attended the party.
Sheila Sharp later said that Ken and Robert saw Johnny and Dana hitchhiking near a green bridge, possibly near Butterfly. Ken and Robert were going to give them a ride, but they had a car full.

April 12, 1981
Midnight
Vickie K., cabin 17, awakens in a chair, gets up, and goes to bed. She doesn’t hear anything, but the neighbors remark it was strange that the dogs in the area didn’t bark.
Timothy D. leaves the Back Door Bar and enroute, sees a dark color, square-shaped van parked across the Keddie bridge by the pond.
Julian R. (cabin 20) goes to bed in his cabin. He says “it was very quiet.” Usually his neighbor’s dog barks loudly when cars are around, but the dog did not bark at all. There were not many people driving around.
Justin tells his mother, Marilyn, that Johnny and Dana came home at midnight (how known?)
John M stated that Wendy H. saw Dana hitchhiking in East Quincy.
John and Pat W. leave the Backdoor Bar. They encounter a vehicle approaching Keddie at the narrow bridge. Approximate time: midnight. Reported to Stoy.

Sometime during the night
Justin purports to have a dream, which he describes the two suspects having a fight with Johnny and Dana. He says one suspect took tape from his right pocket, and one of the suspects called Mrs. Sharp “Sue.” (sometime during the night)
I am on my passenger boat. Somebody got thrown out and there was a fight. He had long black hair, short over the ear. His hair was combed back. He had black glasses with gold ring and a gold frame and black and brown lenses. He had a mustache, jean jacket, blue jeans, no belt. Cowboy boots. Black round toe with a squiggly design. He had a hammer in his left hand and it had a wooden handle and a steel hammering thing and a point at the end.
2. Johnny and Dana fought the man. Dana was almost drunk. He was walking weird. A crowd gathered. Johnny was thrown overboard and Dana. The man ran away. A body was lying on the bow. The mom (Sue). She had black hair and a sheet over her. I looked under the sheet and she was slit on the chest. Everybody started to gather around her and we started to go to shore.
3. The man had a knife like a pocket knife in his right hand. And he cut Sue. He didn't cut her first. No. Before he went off the boat, he cut her. There was another man dressed up like him. He was in the crowd. But when the man dove into the water, they killed Sue. Nobody had a gun. Then I woke up.
4. The man just said her name - "Sue." He had brown hair, past his ears, halfway. Curly at the end. Same kind of glasses as the other man and same kind of clothes. He wore marked Army boots, green, like a hiking boot with a Waffle Stomper type sole.
5. The man used a knife on Johnny. I was down by Sue, trying to take care of her. All the blood was coming down and I was trying to patch her up with a blue and white flowered rag. I threw the rag in the water. The men both took the life raft, but the brown-haired man covered Sue first. Johnny and Dana touched the wall by the TV while they were fighting.
5. Justin tells polygraph examiner Sam Lister that he did not have a dream and that he witnessed the murders taking place.
JUSTIN'S STATEMENTS
The following are statements made by Justin to law enforcement after the murders.
1. Justin said that he heard a noise and awoke and went to the doorway and peeked into the living room. Sue was laying on the sofa and the two men he described previously were standing in the center of the room. John and Dana then came home and entered the front door. John argues with the two men and a fight starts. Dana tried to get away and fled towards the kitchen when the brown-haired man strikes him with the hammer. Sue rushes to John's aid and Justin returned to his room and hid behind the door. The suspects then tied up Johnny and Dana.
2. Tina comes out of her room, dragging a blanket, and asks, "What's going on?" The two men then rush to Tina and grab her by the arms and drag her out the back door as she cries "help, help." Later, the brown-haired suspect returns and covers up Sue with the blanket.
3. Justin told his mother that someone had a sweatsuit on. Johnny's hands were tied and there was blood all over his face. He talked about the TV. Justin said that Johnny and Dana came in at midnight.
4. Justin states that "Sue was cut in the middle of her chest by a black-haired man using a pocket knife."
5. Justin states that in his "dream" that "I ran down to Mrs. Sharp. She had a cut on her chest. I took a rag and put it on her chest!"
6. Justin then got back into bed and covered himself with a blanket where he fell asleep in about an hour.

1:00 am
Eric R., Bobby J., and Lisa H quit playing records at the Back Door Bar.
POI gets mad at the bar because the music is changed from Country Western to rock and roll so he and his wife Marilyn and “Bo” leave and walk home past the Sharp residence (see Part II documentary for more information).
"Bo" states that he didn't hear or see anything unusual while passing the Sharp residence.
Marilyn Person of Interest's last name related that after returning from the bar, Martin said “Yo, Bo, let’s go.” And Bo said, “Just a minute, I am too mad. Boy, the way I feel, I’d like to kill somebody.” Marilyn said that she went directly to bed. Reported to Thomas and Crim.
Connie B. drives past the Sharps and believes the lights were out at that time. Approximate time: 1:00 am.
Connie B. leaves the B. residence to return to Quincy. Has the “weird” feeling she is being watched.

1:15 am-1:30 a.m.
POI and “Bo” return to the Back Door Bar after leaving Marilyn's home, again walking past the Sharp residence, after POI calls and apologizes. Marilyn goes to bed.
Barbara M. wakes Michael P., cabin 16, after hearing sounds. Both of them heard what sounded like muffled screams from the rear of their cabin. Digital clock showed 1:15 am.
Michael P. was awakened by Barbara M. in their cabin (# 16). They heard what he described as muffled screams coming from the direction at the rear of their house. Approximate time: 1:30 am. Reported to Thomas.
Bo and Kathy A. said that POI left the Backdoor Bar.
POI said "Bo" was in bed when he got up to put wood in the fire.

2:00 am
Victor K., cabin 23, says his three cats were acting strangely and kept going in and out. He had to get up from watching TV and let them in and out. Normally they sleep all night.

2:20 am
Kathy A. leaves the Back Door Bar. She is the bartender on Friday and Saturday nights and works weekdays at Nugget Motors. As she approaches her Olds Cutlass parked in the NW corner of the parking lot, she heard a noise like someone putting something into a car and she heard a male and female voice. Kathy dropped her car keys.

4:00 a.m.
Kathy B., cabin 24, gets up from sleeping and sees the back porch light on at the Sharps residence.

8:00 a.m.
Sheila Sharp leaves the Seabolt residence for home. She came back hysterical, saying, “Come quick, there are three bodies over there, blood all over, and a knife, and their hands are tied.”

8:30 a.m.
Sheila and James Seabolt Jr. open Ricky and Greg’s bedroom window and tell them and Justin to get out through the window.
Ricky was awakened by Sheila at the bedroom window. He didn’t wake up or hear any noise during the night.
Unkown deputy is called at home and advised of the Keddie Murders.

9:30 a.m.
Unkown deputy arrives in Keddie, and met with Shanks, Sgt Shaver and deputy Klement, and starts the investigation inside cabin 28. The DOJ was called in during the investigation. Agents Vasos and Palmer assisted at the scene, Vasos with the fingerprint evidence.
Sgt. Brubaker and Deputy Forcino was contacted by Deputy thrall at Antelope Lake and responded to the murder scene.

On Sunday morning, 4-12-81, Jan S. went to church at the Methodist Church on Church St. When she arrived, a group of women told her that they had found Phillip S. sleeping in the high school room. Jan went to the high school room and found that pillows or cushions had been fashioned into a bed. Also she could smell Phillip's body odor. She also found his possessions and a half can of beer.
Marilyn says Justin came home and said he saw the bodies and Johnny was protecting his mother. He said that Johnny and Dana came in at midnight, but insisted that he was asleep (how known?)

12:00 p.m.
Joel F.H. who works for Sierra Center Liquors, said he had been working at the liquor store around noon on 4-12-81 and had see a young Indian male in front of the store, and he had been naming the people that had been killed. That had been some two to three hours before he had heard anything about it on the radio, and thought it strange. The subject was ID'd later as Phillip S.

1:30 p.m.
Anonymous caller advised that he heard that a railroad worker and another subject went to Keddie from Livermore. Anonymous caller further advises that the railroad worker and friend then went to the Sharp house and "started playing a game" with the Sharps and Dana and then tied them up. Reported to Crim. (see Part II documentary for more information)

7:00 – 8:00 pm
Dale “Wade” M., Blaine G. and Phillip S. go to Keddie to visit Marilyn.

Phillip S. was collecting money for slain victims in front of Thrifty Drug, saying he was a friend of theirs. (time unkown)

April 13
Time unknown
Marilyn's husband "hated Johnny Sharp with a passion," states Marilyn. Reported to Thomas and Crim.
DOJ Agent Bradley finds a dress under cabin 28. Sheriff Doug Thomas seized a telephone book from cabin 28.
Deputy Forcino transports the bodies to Sacramento to be autopsied by Dr. Rooney and stayed there for the autopsies. Forcino finished his investigation at the coroner’s office and delivered one item of evidence to the DOJ office in Sacramento and started toward Redding to deliver the other items.

6:00 pm
Judith L. and her daughter see POI walking east bound on Hwy 70 in Portola. He was carrying a backpack and bed roll and wearing a green fatigue jacket.

April 13-17
Time unknown
A man approached Alice T. shortly after the homicides on a bicycle and asked her about the killings. She said that shortly after the killings, a WMA with light color hair, was watching her and her friend Kim by the shopping center near the liquor store in East Quincy. He came up to them and asked them "Did you hear about the killings in Keddie?" She said yes and he said, "Have they got a suspect yet?" Alice said not that she knew of and he said, "Good." The WMA then rode off on a yellow 10-speed bike. They saw the same man later (in a day or two) and he started toward them again but Alice had an uneasy feeling about him, so they avoided him by running away.

April 14
“Bo” leaves POI’s residence and goes to Klamath Falls, OR. DOJ agent makes misc. notes on Bo:

James Sharp arrives in Reno from Connecticut, rents a car, and drives to Quincy for the funerals. He stays with Don and Nancy D. Later, he went to Oregon until the following Tuesday or Wednesday.

POI is polygraphed by the DOJ and passes it.
Rick Sharp drew a sketch of Johnny’s missing toolbox for DOJ Agent Harry Bradley.

April 20
DOJ agents are at the Round Table Pizza and hear two subjects talking about Tina. They left in a green and white ’66 Ford pickup.

April 21
Marilyn is interviewed at the Sheriff’s Office by Agent Crim, Agent Bradley, and an unknown LE person. Marilyn states the M&B could have done the murders, she just had a ‘feeling’ about it. She talked about POI’s attitude toward members of the Sharp family. She talked about going to the Backdoor Bar, and how M&B was mad about the music being changed. She said she didn't see any blood in her house on Sunday, 4-12-81. She said she doesn't plan on returning to the house, although she has belongings in the house and the rent is paid to 5-1-81. She was asked if she remembered anything unusual when she was walking home from the bar on 4-11-81. She said she couldn't remember anything unusual.

April 27

Joseph H. came into the office to talk to me. He said POI had called him at his residence. POI told Joseph that if Marilyn didn't go back to him by Friday he would start killing Marilyn's boyfriends, and people involved with her. POI said he would disappear if he hadn't heard from Marilyn by Friday and he night not show up for a year or two. Joseph said that he didn't feel POI was involved with drugs, although POI told him that he had a lot of speed and money. Joseph said that POI is staying at the Arcadia Hotel in Klamath Falls, OR. Joseph met POI in some classes at the college. Joseph was not in town during the week of 4-11-81.

April 29
On April 29th, 1981, I was working as a radio dispatcher. At approximately 1410 hours I monitored a conversation between Phillip and his mother, who was visiting him. Due to radio transmissions and phone calls, I did not hear the entire conversation. I heard Phillip tell his mother than he was in the house when it happened. His mother said, "Phillip, you're hallucinating, you were in church that night." Phillip said when he left the church he went there with POI and two other guys. He spoke of Tina being there. He said, "Someone asked me to hand him the scissors and I did." Phillip said, "Maybe I should be hypnotized," and his mother replied, "No, don't do that." I contacted Maggie; re: Chuck W. having cut marks on him. Maggie said that last Saturday night (4-25-81), Susan K. had been in the dorm lounge and had gone out for a few minutes and when she returned at approx. 2130 hrs, Chuck and another guy was with her. Chuck and the other guy talked about some other guy who was supposed to have $1200 on him, and said they should do it the way the thing was done in Keddie. They were supposedly waiting for some guys in the bar, and were also waiting around for some girls that hang around the dorm, but do not live in the dorm--she did not know the names of any of the people, nor could she describe them. I asked about the cuts on Chuck and she said he had 3-4 cuts, or what appeared to her to be cuts, on the back of his right hand. They were scabbed over and appeared to be old. Maggie had also mentioned that when Chuck came in with Susie, Susie's sister Margaret, and another girl she thinks was named Tracy was also with them, besides Chuck's friend. Chuck and his friend are tree planters for the USF/S, according to Maggie.

May 1
On 5-1-81, Sgt. Stoy checked the hot water heater under the Sharp residence. No license number was scratched on it, by Phillip S.
Carla M. states that she heard that Johnny and Dana had stolen ten sheets of acid from someone and that was why they were killed. Reported to Stoy on 5/1/81.

May 4
Jack B., who locked up the Back Door Bar on the night of 4-11-81, said no one (Phillip S.) tried to talk to him as he was leaving the bar. Jack said he might have been driving a bluish silver Mercedes on the night of 4-11-81. He drives a lot of different cars, and was trying to sell a Mercedes around 4-11-81. He said he would check his records to see if he could determine when he was driving the Mercedes.

May 7
D., Pat was interviewed on 5-7-81 by SA Crim. Pat said on 5-5-81 she picked up Donna W., who was very drunk. Donna said the FBI was going to arrest her for murder. Donna was very emotional. She said she had given Dana and Johnny a ride to Exxon early and then gave them a ride to Keddie at 10:30 pm. Pat said she is unable to tell whether [Donna] was hallucinating or what.
Donna talked about Steve D. and said she didn't think he would lie to her. Pat told her Steve would lie, in her opinion. Donna would not talk any more about Steve.
Pat feels like Donna has guilty feelings because she and the others didn't give Dana and Johnny a ride to Keddie. Donna has an alcoholic problem and probably is a drug user. Donna fights a lot when she gets to drinking. She suspects Donna would know the drug dealer.
When Donna talked about picking up Johnny and Dana and taking them to Keddie, she said there were three kids. She never could figure out whether Donna took them to Keddie or not.

Deputy Forcino reports that Ron J. found a bloody sweatshirt near Spanish Creek below his home, with 2 rocks up the sleeves.

May 13
Marilyn S. signed another consent to search form for cabin 26.

May 15
Agent Bradley and I were talking with James Seabolt at Keddie and he told us that he remembered having seen a WMA about 5'10 or 5'11, short dark hair, with POI. Seabolt said that he had seen this man a number of times at Cabin # 13 while F. Davis was still living there. The man seemed to be a friend of Davis as well as POI. Seabolt said the man drives an old green 1 1/2 ton Chevy truck with plywood sideboards and for the past year has been selling wood and hauling junk metal. Seabolt said he thought the man lived across the river near the swinging bridge. This man had been with POI in Keddie a few days before the murders. Seabolt said he has not seen the man very often since Davis moved out and has not seen him at all for the last two or three weeks. Seabolt also told us of a guy who lives at # 7 Keddie and works for the railroad and drives a '79 or '80 Toyota truck who has not been around for a couple of weeks. Seabolt does not know the guy's name.

May 18
2:40 a.m.
Wade M. booked at the county jail for reckless driving. POI was there in an end cell. He began to beat on the door, yelling, "Put him in with me, I'll break his fucking neck!" "Tell them where the dope is, Meeks!" "Put him in here with me, I'll find out!" All these statements and many others were yelled at the top of his voice while beating on the walls and door.
At approx. 0300 am subj. POI lowered his voice from a scream and stated, "You know I got her, Meeks, and I'm going to get you in the same way!" Subj. was removed from the area at this time.

May 18
Deputy Forcino and another deputy check out a patch of ground at the Smartt residence and find it was dug up to repair the septic system.

May 22
Cheryl J. telephoned the PCSO and said that a friend thought one of the composite sketches looked like John S.
Thomas C. reports two WMA’s who resemble the composites the week prior to the murders and they were driving an older white Ford sedan. He also saw on the morning of April 11 about 3 a.m. on the County annex road next to Gray’s flower garden acting intoxicated or high. He had a feeling it was one of the 2 men he saw earlier. Under hypnosis, he described 2 subjects. Subject #1 looked Mexican, was 5’11”, wore glasses, slender, had short side burns, thick wide dark mustache, black greased back hair combed straight back with ears showing, wore a blue jean jacket and blue jean bell pants with thick black belt with silver buckle with 2 rings, wore thick soled logging type boots. Subject #2 had blond greasy shoulder length hair combed behind his ears, with a silver earring in his left ear, wore reflective glasses, wearing a green army jacket and a white tank top with baggy blue jeans, no belt. He smoked cigarettes.

May 24
A man named David, living in the Bigelow apartments in Susanville; was reported as resembling one of the composite sketches.

May 28
Terry A. said that he knew that POI and another guy who he (Terry) didn't know had done the murders. A also said that it was because of a big dope deal and someone was at the wrong place. Reported to Forcino on 5/28/81.

May 29
Michael B. said that the composites looked like POI for one and the one other like John S. or Wade Dale M. Both attend FRC and were strange individuals. Reported to Forcino on 5/29/81.

June 2
Art P. states that Joe C., former forest service employee, resembles the composite of the long-haired person. Reported to Brubaker on 6/2/81.

June 4
9:05 a.m.
Agent Mike Crim and AS Shanks interviewed Davis at the PCSO, where he talked about a fight between Sue and a person in the green and white Blazer

5:15 p.m.
Sheila was telephoned in Oregon and asked about the man driving the Blazer.

June 7
Arnes B., who works at Leonard's Market, reported that two men matching the composites came into Leonard's Market on 6-7-81. They were driving an old blue-black Chev. or Ford pickup with an old camper with a faded turquoise stripe down the side of the camper. Both subjects acted really weird. Then the brown-haired subject came back into the store later that day. Arnes B. did not get a license number and she did not know the subjects.

June 8
Art J. is polygraphed by the DOJ and passes it. James J. is also polygraphed and passed it.

June, 10, 1981
A $1000 reward is offered through the secret witness program. In the paper, Doug Thomas talked about a man who disapeared from Keddie shortly after the murders and turned up in Oregon seeking employment had passed a polygraph. In the article, Thomas also states that there is reason to believe the murders happened between midnight and 2 a.m.

June 12
Dennis S., Quincy, reports his wife was visiting Santa Cruz and on 6-8-81 she heard on the Salinas/Watsonville TV station that Tina Sharp was found tied and cut up. Dennis lives in the Greenville area.

June 16
I telephoned channel 8 TV in Salinas and was referred to a Detective Avaolos, who said that their Tina Sharp who was killed was a 50-year-old Oriental woman.

June 13 -17
Ronald L. says Steve M. stayed at his place in Twain on June 13 to the 17th, 1981. Steve wore dark brown or black cowboy boots with a squiggly design on the toes, a fold-up knife and shaded sunglasses with metal frames.

July 1
The Kathy Howard murder in 1973 was reviewed for similarities to the Keddie murders.

2 p.m.
Chuck W. interviewed at the PCSO. 7-1-81, approx. 1400 hr, I contacted Chuck W. at the S/O and questioned him regarding a subject he knows that Richard Meeks said was in front of the Sharp residence the night of the homicide. Subject's first name is supposed to be Steve, according to Meeks and is supposed to be a friend of Chuck's. Chuck told me that the subject is Steve L. and that Steve told him and Meeks that he was out walking the night of the homicide and had walked past the Sharp house but didn't hear or see anything.

July 6
On 7-6-84, I was contacted by a female. She is approx. 50 years old, married, three children, living all of her life in _______, working in ________, and is an excellent citizen. She gave me information regarding the Keddie homicides. She appeared upset and stated she was "scared to death." She felt I should know this information but did not under any circumstances want her name used.
The informant related that she was driving by the Keddie turn-off when her passenger, a female in her 20s, said the following:
Passenger: I know who killed those people in there.
Inf: What?
Passenger: One of the Compton brothers goes with a friend of mine. She was in their house and saw some pictures with three faces "x"ed out. She said the brothers said that the pictures were of the Sharps and implied that they killed them along with Richard C. She said they said something about Vernal M. knowing something.
Inf: How do you know this?
Passenger: They told my friend and she told me. My friend said that Richard C.'s old girlfriend Joanna knows and they told her they would kill her if she ever said anything.
Pause.
Passenger: Someone else said they had something to do with another death. The girl's name was Brown or something.
At this point the inf. said the passenger stopped talking. She added she was afraid to ask questions.

July 8
Photo of Henry T. is shown to Justin. Justin stated that he could not identify the man from the photos. Reported by Stoy on 7/8/81. (see Part II documentary for more information)
Chuck W. submits to polygraph examination. Examiner Sam Lister states that Chuck is telling the truth and was not involved in the homicides, nor does he know who did commit the crimes. Reported by Stoy on 7/8/81. (see Part II documentary for more information)

Detective Hooker of Eugene, OR is contacted. Eugene is where Marty Smartt went after leaving Keddie. Hooker advised that Marty went to Klamath Falls, and from there to Redding, CA.

Agent Carol Silberstein is asked to conduct a surveillance on James Sharp at Groton, CT to see if Tina Sharp is there.

July 27
DOJ Harry Bradley has obtained information that Sue Sharp has a boyfriend that sang at the Keddie Back Door. Robert T. of Portola used to sing at the Back Door but he was killed in an auto accident while running from Portola deputies near the end of April of this year.
LE sorted the investigation into categories and copied them for the working file.
Springfield, OR has a similar case that occurred on 7-10-81. I have talked to them once on it and have sent them some information on our case. Because they were in the middle of their original investigation and didn't have anything written yet, no further contact has been made. They probably have more info by now and should be recontacted for follow up.
Joes L. investigated with negative results.

August 12
Ramona, Dee Lake’s wife, receives a card from POI saying “Bo” was dead. POI said he was in Walla Walla selling tickets for a circus (for more information, see Parts I and II of documentary).

Sgt. Brubaker contacted Tina’s dentist to obtain her X-rays to send to the DOJ.

Mona Lake (Dee Lake’s wife) brought in an envelope that said that Marty could be contacted in Milton-Freewater, OR
Deputy Forcino meets with Dave G. Dave G. requested to look inside the cabin, and described how he thought the murders happened. He also went with Forcino to Big Blackhawk Creek, where he said Tina could possibly be hidden.

September 1981
The man suspected of molesting Tina Sharp moves from Hill Top Bonanza Ranch, Reno.
Steve M. comes back to Twain after September 3rd and asks Andy T. to take him to Quincy. Steve didn’t say why he was leaving.

September 24
Joel W.L. interviewed at the PCSO by Special Agents Bradley and Crim. He states He heard from another teacher on the day of the Keddie murders that Tina Sharp was killed. He came to Quincy to check and talked with someone in the sheriff's office and then he joined the search because he was brand new on the search team and thought he could be helpful if Tina was around because he was one of her teachers and she might respond better to him.
He came to the PCSO about 4-6 weeks after the incident and talked to Ken Shanks about Marilyn S. and her kids. MArilyn told him she thought her husband, Marde S., had made statements about hating kids and that he did not like women. Marilyn told him she has seen some bloody clothing shortly after the murders.

Sept. 30. 1981
The Sheriff asks area deer hunters to be on the lookout for Tina Sharp. They were told to watch out for clothing, abandoned vehicles, and skeletal remains.

Nov. 2
Charles (last name unknown) told Lucie S. that he has been told to "keep his mouth shut," and that someone had gone to his home and threatened his family. If they said anything they would get what Johnny and Dana got. Note: Charles LNU might possible be Charles M. Reported to Brubaker around 11/02/81.

Ronald Pedrini while bottle hunting near Feather Falls, Butte County, finds the upper portion of a skull, at Camp 18, Feather Falls, Butte County Note: Ronald Pedrini used to live in the Berry Creek area. Reported by Crim on 4/21/84.

An anonymous male caller telephones the Butte County Sheriff's Office and says the skull is from the missing 12-year-old girl from the Keddie Plumas County Murders which occurred three years ago. A copy of the audio is in evidence (Josh’s note: the BCSO says they do not have the tape; the PCSO says they do not have the tape).

June 12, 1984
9 a.m.
I received a phone call from Cpt. Leroy Wood of the BCSO. He advised than an informant told him who committed the Keddie homicides. He explained that the informant called just before he called me. The informant says that he knows the ex-wife of Ward F.W. He is currently in the Kern Co. Jail on 187 charge. The ex-wife told the informant that her ex-husband committed the Keddie murders. The only other information Cpt. Wood had was that the ex-wife is very afraid of her ex-husband and she will not come forward this time out of fear.
In checking on the ex-husband's name in the case file I found a supplemental report where he was considered as a possible suspect during the original investigation.

June 21, 1984
Sgt. Young stopped by the BCSO on the way back from Feather Falls and talked with Capt. Wood. He obtained a photo of the suspect and a copy of the BCSO coroner report concerning [name omitted], who was the girl the suspect picked up in Kern Co. and later killed in Butte County.

June 22, 1984
I contacted Bill Opferman of DOJ BOCCI unit in Sacramento. Opferman has information on W.F.W. and has followed his criminal history. He told me that the suspect's whereabouts on April 11/12 - 1981 are unknown but that he was in Southern California on the 3rd of April and in Reno NV on the 14th of April, 1981. I obtained a brief description from Opferman on the suspect's M.O. in two homicide/kidnap cases and notice some similarities with the Keddie case. I will contact Opferman in person next week and obtains copies of the information.

DOJ reports a new process for developing partial prints using laser. The bloody print from the scene was enhanced so suspects’ names should be resubmitted for comparison.

It's tedious to fix names and errors/omissions in MK's post, so follow Mags' path by asking Qs. Most of these names are known and found simply by comparing to other timelines (particularly A, B, and Z).

To answer Mags' Qs:

1► "She said the brothers said that the pictures were of the Sharps and implied that they killed them along with Richard C. She said they said something about Vernal M. knowing something." Richard Constance & Vern Mullen are the names. Vern lived at the Dorris' foster home with Dana. Constance doesn't appear anywhere else in my files, or on the forum.

2► Lingenfelter, Ronald-- Steven McKim dredged with him on Squirrel Creek & stayed with him at the "Heater" house in Spring Garden, contacted later, no new info, lived Elizabeth Town but soon to dredge river <Brubaker/Crim/Lingenfelter>

3► No info, but it probably all stems from the BS from Mike Davis

4► The fact Hooker is Marty's ex-relative makes the source questionable (bias, conflict of interest). It's believed by other info that Marty left Quincy to join Bo in Klamath Falls, and from there made many trips- including multiple visits to Reno, including his confession. He was supposedly seen leaving the Arcadia Hotel one last time, in a red van with a white woman approx 30. We know Bo and Marty eventually hooked up with a carnival promoter & huckster in Freewater, OR. That's where he mailed the card to Dee and Mona Lake, with Chenault Enterprises as the return address, stating Bo is Dead. From there, they did join a circus and toured America, visiting Bo's family in TX in May-June. It's quite possible they caught a ride to Chenault with another (or the same) carnival:

810504-????m (week of) Marty walks into therapist's office without appointment to say goodbye, he's got a job with a carnival working the Northern California valley, moving north through Oregon and Washington, and was leaving the area. Therapist assumed Marty meant Redding area.

"Vickie" may be Vicky/Vickie/Vicki Rhodes or Krois. Rhodes and others claimed she was hit/beaten by James Seabolt Sr over knowledge of the murders. The older Krois sisters were partiers, so the acid party may be known to her. It's obvious we could construe Charles/Charles M could be Meeks, but there's nothing in my research to draw that line.

Yes, the Vickie Krois mentioned is Railroad Vickie. The Krois family lived in 23, the last cabin (painted green) on the back row behind 28 before the road curved down the hill to the Flats. Victor was the dad, and he and his wife and daughters lived there for years. Along with the Seabolts, theey were the most longstanding residents in the contemporary history of Keddie. By the time of the murders, a couple of the daughters had moved out. I think Susan worked at the Gold Pan motel, just yards from where Johnny and Dana were last seen. Vickie and her baby lived in 17, also at the rear of 28. She was 25 at the time, and had a boyfriend with a white & green blazer, but he (and the blazer?) was said to be in Idaho at the time.

Remember the "green van" the two Seabolt daughters saw parked in front of 28? I find it very odd that Mr. Seabolt only described seeing a "green and white blazer" parked in front of the Krois cabin, 23.

Margaret Krois was 17 and living at home (23), partying with the college kids at the dorm, and her bf was Chuck Walke (ugh!) Margaret may also be the Krois daughter LaRonda preferred to sleep over with rather than Sheila at 28. My bet is if a Meeks daughter had been sleeping over at 28 that night, the home invasion would never have escalated to murder- in fact, there may never have been a home invasion if MMB were 'in the know' about events at 28. Richard Meeks' claimed Margaret knew the mysterious 'Steve', the guy who claimed he was toasted on acid that night and walked past 28 a couple times that night, including once at 2 am.

Reading this again just makes me question a lot of things. First of all why was Luclia Shumway (supposedly Dana's counselor in 1980) giving the boys a ride to any party - if she did. Also why was she in contact with these people who were supposedly telling her these things?
There has long been "talk" of a party - and here is Vickie Krois saying that there was a party close to Keddie.

Glenna Meeks always talked of Charles Meeks being at the Oakland Camp party. Isn't that in between Quincy and Keddie?

Chuck and Henry waited around in Livermore on 4-11-81 to "TALK" to Mark Goddu - only to end up ( from their own statements ) to be driving in the Keddie Resort at 4:00a.m. on 4-12-81. Remember Henry confessed to a friend that he was at Cabin28 that night - only to say later that he only told this lie because he was tired of being accused of the murders. Well that certainly was not a very good way to clear up any suspicions.
Chuck was supposedly seeing Vickie's sister Margaret - so it appears she would know what she was talking about.
Maybe Chuck and Henry were in Livermore to get drugs for a party? Very likely Marty Smartt was at the Keddie Bar that night to sell drugs to young kids who were partying.

I just can't understand the number of people who claimed to be near or at Cabin 28 that night - but we are lead to believe that they were crazy or drunk - yet most of us (including myself) have no problem believing that Marty Smartt was there? This is the man who confessed to his therapist that he killed Sue and Tina - and the same man who had been in the Psych Ward at the Reno VA hospital - trying to get diagnosed with PTSD.

On a side note - the Steve Lucas that is mentioned in the above post was friends with Chuck Walke - and according to Chuck he claimed he walked by Cabin 28 that night high on acid - the same guy who had the conversation with Tina about her sister Sheila. Timeline A says he left on the 9th or 10th of April for Easter vacation - but Easter was on the Following Sunday the 19th - was he out of school the week before Easter for vacation?

A lot of the people -who were young back then - really should be questioned now to see what their stories are 34 years later.

The hardest part is finding reasonable 'suspension of disbelief'. We can't trust much of anything that stands out as 'new' (not already known via other timelines or documents) in mk's version, as there is no context & no mention of sources.

Something we should all keep in mind is, if the coverup is about protecting those involved in the drug trade (ie Powers That Be & LE), the drug results on the victims may be complete lies. We've been told, but where are the documents? Wouldn't the first thing to do (after taking the killers off the hook and getting them out of Dodge) be to deny drugs as having any influence in the murders? Well, why was Thomas pointing blame at Tina and keeping up denials that drugs were a problem in Plumas?

It's difficult enough to believe Johnny and Dana were known partiers, yet tea-totallers on a weekend night where opportunities were rampant. We've gone so far as to consider they may have been on acid, since it destroys appetite (J & D had no food in their stomachs) and probably wouldn't be detected in regular tests. On the other hand, are the negative test results more LE BS? On the mutant third hand, the only nod I've ever noticed to ANY LE suspicion of drug activity comes from Don Stoy photographing and taking into evidence a box of baggies supposedly found near Sue's corner.

Lucilia Shumway goes by many names and (mis)spellings in documents, but is she the Lucille S that was Dana's counselor? It would certainly explain her associations with kids of Dana's and Vickie's (Krois?) age groups, just as Mrs. Dorris knew so many kids of many ages (Donna Williams also told her so many odd things). It's statements attributed to her which make it difficult to believe she was a counselor... taking people to parties? Maybe she was a FIRED counselor? Remember, Dana's dad claimed things were haywire and too loose for Dana and LE wanted to move him to a different home.

It's also difficult to believe much of what Shumway says (if she, indeed, said them) because a few of her statements contradict facts. John and Dana weren't together Friday night, which John spent at the Meeks home and the arcade across the intersection. I've debunked the possibility Dana could have been seen at the college, too.

TALK OF A PARTY IN / NEAR KEDDIE

The party "across the first bridge before Keddie" lines up with the bridge into Old Keddie, which is Roundhouse Rd where the Walke home is. The only bridge between Q & Keddie without leaving 70/89 is by Gansner Field, so it's clear the bridge in question is near Keddie but is directly off the highway

Here's the only ref I know of where Glenna talks of Charles @ Oakland. Are there more? Here she seems to be talking about Sunday April 12, and I don't see her saying Charles was at Oakland around the time of the murders- or on Saturday the 11th:

Oakland Camp is located between the EQ / Q Jnctn and Keddie. It's 4.75 miles on the tracks from Oakland to Cabin 28. From Oakland, it's 2.75 miles to the Dorris home if you walk thru fields, 3.5 if you walk roads. It's 5.1 miles to the nearest pay phone in Quincy, at Albertsons- which is just yards from where Craig says he was living. 4.75 miles, if you cut through properties, to the closest pay phone in EQ (if there was a business and phone there in 81, which is unclear). 5.1 miles to the pay phone at the grocery store in EQ, and the same distance if you walk straight to the Meeks home. If you take every shortcut imaginable, it's still over 4.5 miles from the camp to the Exxon where they were last noted.

"Very likely Marty Smartt was at the Keddie Bar that night to sell drugs to young kids who were partying." What young kids were at the bar? Who allowed them in? In the list of witnesses and their descriptions of activities in the bar, the crowd was primarily 30s and beyond. I wonder more about why a 32 year old drug pusher was at the arcade Saturday morning... around the time, if not the same time, Johnny was there.

As for Marty, his confession is very damning (it took several weeks of meetings for him to build up to it, and it was made after LE had basically made it clear he was off the hook so long as he pissed off to Bo's love nest in Klamath), but it's a drop in the bucket compared to all the other damning crap he and others close to him have done/said. As for Henry, he comes off like a screwball. Having dealt with Walke, I can state clearly Chuck loved/loves the attention and, when asked for details about the murders or people related to the case, he's full of lies.

Case in point may just be Walke claiming Steve Lucas was the acid freak wandering around 28. And Lucas claiming "maybe Tina" told him someone was after his sister in January, when Sheila was living in Oregon? I think one of the main reasons LE were looking at Steve Howard and his friends as POIs was because they think/know the 'Acid Steve' Richard Meeks heard the story directly from was SH. Yes, I agree that Lucas is of interest, and perhaps either Bradley or Howard are lying about his 4-11 alibi. I did research the history of Easter Break / Spring Break years back. It seemed to be one and the same at FRC for a long time. This year, the FRC handbook only states the college would be closed on Easter- and possibly surrounding days. Actual Spring Break this year was April 6-10. In 2013 it was 14-18. Many, many people claimed to be out of town for Easter Break at the time of the murders, and it appears April 6-10 was the break period in 81, making the break from end of school Fri Apr 3 thru Sun 12.

Walke must be naming Lucas as Acid Steve, but that's hardly believable based solely on Walke's word. And if Walke is wrong / lying, what else have we got placing Steve Lucas anywhere near Plumas when he claimed he was out of town?

These were just some things that have bothered me - all of the young kids and talk of a party. I have also wondered if the drug results on the victims were complete lies. It is hard to imagine 2 young, troubled boys out on Saturday night doing absolutely nothing.

Here is a post from Glenna Meeks on the Oakland Party. Keep in mind when reading her post that a lot of times she post as if the murders happened on Saturday night-4-11-81- and they could have - we only know when they were discovered-4-12-81. This post makes it pretty clear:

And really who besides Marilyn, Bo and Mickey Curran even say they saw Marty at the bar that night? Mickey is the same one who could not remember any other customers (she had worked like 10-12 hours that day) but she remembered Marty, Marilyn and Bo. Weren't the Keddie Dorms next door? And a possible party down the road? For all we know Marty was in and out of the bar selling drugs - to adults, to young people, to anyone who would buy them. Maybe that is why several people passed by Cabin28 that night on the way to pick up or looking for drugs at Cabin 26?

Steve Lucas very well could have been on Easter vacation the weekend of the murders - but he supposedly was questioned when he got back and could not even remember if he left on the 9th or the 10th. Such a short memory.

As far as all of the "liars" in this case - there is one thing for sure - whoever was involved in this crime was certainly no truthful, upstanding member of society. So maybe digging through the lies will expose the truth.

If Cayse Craig dropped Johnny and Dana off on Friday at First Street and Main Street then they were literally left at the Meeks front door. Maybe they crossed the street and went to the arcade.

How old was Cayse Craig in 1981 (around 30)?

What was it that Walter and Johnny got in the little fuss about that night (nothing worth remembering I guess)? Of all the things Richard could remember - it is too bad he could not remember that- or at least ask Walter if he remembered. Where was Johnny when they got up in the morning because I think that neither Richard nor Glenna were ever sure about seeing him at breakfast.

If the kids in Plumas County were out for Spring Break that week then there is no telling what Johnny or Dana were doing all week.
I just think that some of this is worth looking into. If the FRC was closed for Easter vacation then why did Wade, Phillip, and Blaine attend a square dance there on Saturday night?

And what you said about Lucie Shumway maybe being Dana's counselor before he went to live with the Dorris family makes a lot of sense.

So she's gone from saying LaRhonda spent the night in Keddie, to everyone was home, to Charles was at Oakland Camp.

Not that Walke/Thompsons reasons are great, but it was supposedly to visit Henry's sister, Vivian, and her hubby, Tom Schmid in 14 (who saw Tina doing dishes through 28's kitchen window when they returned home Sat night. Tom was 23 at the time, and they had two kids under three... so I'm not exactly sure what is sufficient cause to want to visit that family at 4 am. As you read on, the stretch is if you believe the Schmids pulled a Loon and abandoned their toddlers for a night of fun, including an acid party.

According to a report on Walke (many observations in this post come from this link), "They arrived at the Keddie turnoff around 0330hr and Henry said he wanted to see a friend in Keddie to see if he was going to work the following Monday (if he was still up). They drove into Keddie and Henry drove by the friend's home and saw that he was not up so he did not stop. Then they came out and Henry took Chuck home. He went on to explain that when they approached the Keddie turn off he saw a pickup truck parked in the turn off in front of the old gas station along highway 70. Chuck said that the truck was a solid dark color and was probably around a 1975 model. He couldn't tell what type of truck it was but thought it was a Ford or Chevy. Chuck said that there were two men at the rear of the truck and as they drove by (Chuck on the passenger side) he saw them walking toward the doors to get in the truck. He noticed the driver better than the passenger as the truck was parked in such a position that he could see the driver side. He said the two men could have been putting something in the rear of the truck when he first observed them, but he could not be sure. Chuck said the two men looked similar to the composite drawings he saw in the newspaper in that the hair was about the same as well as the general build and one of them (driver) wore dark glasses. The driver also had a checkered type short sleeve shirt and Levis and possibly boots. He also had a splotch or spot of something on his left arm just below the shoulder and above the elbow. Both men wore short sleeve shirts and the passenger had a mustache."

According to a report on Henry: "Henry said that on the way back to Quincy they stopped at Keddie because Henry wanted to see his brother-in-law who lives there. He said they drove his (Henry's) red 1978 Toyota pick up. They arrived at Keddie around 0400 hr on 4-12-81. Henry was certain that they did not see anyone on Highway 70 around the old service station and they continued into Keddie to his brother-in-law's house where they pulled into the driveway for a few seconds. He noticed that it did not appear that anyone was up so he drove out. On the way out of Keddie he noticed the vehicle that Chuck was talking about and that it was parked facing the street in the driveway next to the Keddie store in front of the garbage bins. Henry also said he was sure the vehicle, a pickup, unknown make, was white or light color. He saw one subject next to the pickup outside. Henry said he thought maybe the subject was dumping garbage. He said they continued out of Keddie and that he took Chuck home and then returned home himself."

Here's the known angles on Henry:

► Henry admitted to LE he told RR co-workers he was the killer, but only to stop their continued teasing, calling him "Keddie Machete".
►Henry's details of the Keddie visit don't match Walke's
►Sister Alice is who Sheila visited Saturday morning and may have been the first to refuse her sleepover invitation. Alice was asked by Sheila to sleep over the night before, but Norma wouldn't let her. From Alice's description, it seems theidea for a big sleepover and party began with Sheila's visit Saturday morning.
►Sister Viv lived in 14.
►According to mother, Norma, Henry was home by around 330-400 AM
►Henry's brother (name unknown) lived in 28 prior to the Sharps, and Henry had been inside 28 at that time.
►Henry eventually moved into 13, with his girlfriend, Dana's sister.

You don't have to convince me the documents are falsified to protect people seen at the bar, but other than Bo, Marty, and Loon, who do we have any inkling is actively being de-observed by LE's falsifications?
Nor do you have to convince me of subtracting all the lies from the mix to find the truth- hence how I came up with the forum's sub-title and logo several years ago.

As for Cayse, keep in mind that 'ride' was purportedly on Fri night, not Sat. Is it Friday you're interested in? The Meeks have made no mention of Dana being around Friday night, and Richard only spoke of Johnny hanging out at their home and the arcade (after dinner). Sorry, I've never researched Cayse and his sole mention in our records is the ride. However, Alice Thompson "did not see Johnny or Dana Saturday but did see them the day before on Friday. She said they were walking on Main Street and she thought they were headed toward the Meeks residence."

Richard told me Walter and Johnny got into an argument over something minor, and were fine later. "No big deal, kids' stuff" was his sentiment, but not exact words (which I don't recall). It's nice he remembered the event, and understandable he doesn't recall what it was about. The flare-up occurred at the arcade, and they'd reconciled before returning home. It sounded less like a reconciliation than an outburst that was quickly dropped and forgotten.

It certainly lines up that FRC's spring break was the week prior to the murders. K-12 has no spring break, so it was a regular school week for PUSD kids. As Joe McPlumber pointed out, "Square dance class never fit the usual academic time frames. I'm not even sure the ones in question were college sanctioned things." At the college I attended, and another I worked at, many campus spaces were used for extracurricular activities, such as art/musical events, dances, club activities, etc. I was part of a privately-funded 'film club' that had nothing to do with the campus, other than a few of us were students.

Friday was the day I was looking at - 4-10-81 - when Lucie S. said she dropped Johnny and Dana off at Meadow Valley party - and Cayce Craig says he dropped Johnny and Dana off at 1at and Main. This could have been earlier in the day if they were out for spring break but you said k-12 did not have one. Years ago wasn't that kind of scheduled around Easter? So Plumas County had no spring break at all - or just not that week? I thought the entire nation had a spring break - even back in 1981.

I can see the college allowing a "square dance" at the school even if it was closed - just can't see a bunch of young guys attending a square dance by choice on a Saturday night.

As for the party near Keddie -810421-1400z (approx) Melinda Waltermire said that Lorraine Cockrell who resides at Jackson and Roche Streets in the Green Apartment Complex, upstairs left side, had some information about an acid party that was held on the weekend of the homicides. Lorraine told her a girl in Keddie told her about the party. Lorraine attends school and is usually home after 3 pm. Lorraine drives a blue station wagon. (1dv) <M. Waltermire to Brubaker/Leonard>

Renee Wingate told her that there was an acid party in Keddie and that Dana had been hitchhiking the night of the homicides. Dana's own sister had said there was a party in Keddie - and on a side note - I believe the Waltermire girls and Sherri Cuddio (Cuddia) are sisters.

Sorry if I don't believe every thing that Richard M. says - but Johnny and Dana could have been together Friday night. I believe it was early Sunday morning that Richard was supposedly in the arcade until 2:00a.m. So if Johnny spent Friday night at the Meeks - they could have gone to the Meeks and to bed at any time. I'll have to go back and look over her post - but Glenna had been telling that Charles was at Oakland Camp (take that for what it is worth). He is the one that she doesn't mention a lot in her posting.

I really have a hard time believing Henry was so concerned about working on Monday that he went to his brother in laws house 25 or 26 hours ahead of time to find out if he had to work - instead of going on home to Quincy and calling Tom at a decent hour - but Tom did say he was up until about 2:00a.m. Also the detailed description that Chuck gave was almost comical plus the fact that it was 3:30a.m. - 4:00a.m. in the morning and I would guess still a little too dark to notice so much detail - unless of course they were stopped at the store themselves.

And what was the reason everyone was calling Henry the Keddie Machete in the first place (besides being questioned by police - why would anyone else even know Henry was ever near Keddie that night) ? Why wasn't Chuck called the Keddie Machete he was with Henry. And Henry telling the detailed story (that he had to have told the railroad worker) was going a little beyond just saying, "Yeah, it was me". Sorry but this story and many others are hard for me to swallow. And I am not trying to argue about this Dmac - I know what you are saying is - " Here is what we do know." You are right and I have been over and over many of these stories and am looking at what does not add up - which is turning out to be a lot.

By the way, I know what the forum's logo is hence why I wrote that maybe digging through all the lies will expose the truth.

I remember Thanksgiving and, particularly, Christmas/NY break, but I have no memory of Spring Break from my childhood, so I never considered it a factor in the case. Yes, PUSD (Plumas Unified School District) should have had a spring break, which is a game-changer for how we look at people and events leading up to the murders. For instance, not only had Johnny had a major flare-up with Sue a weekend or two prior to the murders (disappearing or even 'running away' for a period of time), but was he running wild the entire eight days prior to his murder? If all the kids- including all the victims- were out of school the week before the murders, we need to rethink many things.

It bugs me (again and as usual) something as significant as the Spring Break aspect has never come up in documents or personal accounts, despite it being so pertinent. With all the students and others taking the opportunity to do something different from their routines, and for a large number of kids from k-kollege out and about, I can see that entire 10-day stretch as being a period of disruption from the norm, or an extended party. With the number of broken families, many people were probably not where they normally would be.

Square dancing was big back then, depending on where you lived. Even in elementary school, we went to school early for classes before school. I hated it and was forced to go, but others loved it. And I doubt the FRC event was looked at as wholesome fun by all, but as a meat market by many. RU kidding? What better chance was there for Q regulars to meet coeds?

I almost included the Seaters/Cockrell stuff, but there's sufficient talk about these parties to add it to the stack of 100 other parties supposedly going on that weekend.

I find the whole Meeks/Walke angle pretty weak. They garnered little interest, and then a flurry of activity for several months, and LE haven't mentioned them since. I directly know of Walke's penchant for directly injecting himself into the case, ala Craig the Perv, and it goes far beyond the nonsensical drivel Josh put in the vids. Considering these guys are little more than a flash in the pan, a blip on the radar they seem to gone out of the way to make their presence known, and there is nothing tying them (so far) to anyone or anything connected to the case, I've seen Thompson as yet another mangled pile of discordant weirdness connected to a case all too abundant with odd characters.

The Friday Dana/John rides and sightings tell a far different story than what we've seen as the Standard Line. For one, if they were out of school, I seen them (particularly Johnny, who I know more abt) running wild. It's easier to belive Alice seeing them walking on Main (Q or EQ?! Probably by the store in EQ?) towards the Meeks. But Richard's account is dinner, arcade, bed. It's harder to see J&D taking a ride to MV than to the Meeks Friday night, but we don't know when these events supposedly happened. What's always seemed incongruous to us- but may not be, given Johnny's emerging Lone Wolf streak- is how the Meeks say Johnny went to bed at their home Friday night but there's no reasonable account of him for Saturday morning.

Te restate the obvious, if Johnny and Dana were collateral damage, none of it matters.

I think we should revisit the original Walke / Thompson collection and update the thread with fresh eyes and thoughts, but it's minor stuff coming from them (Mike M may have seen them at 4am Sunday morning, but Mike doesn't recall? Who is this Mike M- yet another Keddie Mike, probably from the dorm) and tidbits coming from Alice (the genesis of Sheila's sleepover party?) that I remember most. The Original Thread got little traction at the time, and many of the posts on it are irrelevant to the documents posted. Plus, four years on, we know a lot more.

***I've been asking around, and most people are saying the same basic thing: Break coincided with Easter, and was either the week leading up to Good Friday, or began on Good Friday and ended the after the next full school week. Most are saying it was the week PRIOR to Easter. In 81, Easter was the 19th, so if PUSD observed these rules, the last day of school would have been Friday the 10th, and students returned to school Monday April 20th. Or the last day was the 18th, and kids returned April 27.

So, it's up in the air as to whether k-12 students were out of school the week at the time of the murders.

If Johnny was out of school for springbreak the week of the murders then it is possible this was the week he was gone from home - maybe this is why Sue stopped by Glenna Meeks house on Saturday morning for just a short period of time - maybe she was just looking for Johnny.

The fact Johnny had "run away" some time ( a week or two ?) before the murders has really bothered me. We really don`t have a handle on Johnny`s relationship with Sue leading up to the murders. Was he bunking in with friends,how much time was he spending at 28 ? Would the killers even have expected him to be there ? He was spending time at the Meeks, maybe he was supposed to be there the night of the murders, but was with Dana and had to sleep at home. Just spitballing ideas.... don`t get a good feeling about mama Meeks either, when your telling the truth your story never changes because you remember it automatically, not so much when you lie.

Info on Johnny's running away is scant. Here's the 'report' Josh posted which touches on it. It appears Josh transcribed a paragraph of the report, then pointed out a couple other tidbits instead of releasing the full report:

At least it indicates the runaway incident was a full month before the murders. March 13 was a Friday, fyi, which is a logical day to disappear... never get on the bus after school.

I've figured out the vast majority of MK's timeline comes from a bastardization of a document called "A CHRONOLOGICAL SERIES OF EVENTS AS TAKEN FROM INVESTIGATIVE FILES", which is the source document for TIMELINE A.

I've taken down the TIMELINE A, until I can compare the versions closely and add the credits for each entry (ala '<Nancy Davis to Crim>). When the improved version is online, we can delete All the stuff from MK's version that comes from Timeline A, then see what's left.

yes, and it's what Timeline A is based on. In reflecting on how it went down, Josh sent Timeline A to me long ago in .doc form. It is a mangling of the actual document scanned and online, with all the credits removed. When Josh was sending me tons of files, I put the scans online. When I skimmed through the physical copy, it seemed to be exactly as Timeline A. Only on recent, closer inspection did the errors and omissions Josh made stand out.

To put it briefly, the text version of Timeline A is Josh's mangling of the document known as "CHRONOLOGICAL SERIES OF EVENTS AS TAKEN FROM INVESTIGATIVE FILES", brilliantly subtitled "LIERS, DOPIES & PSYCHOS". Most of MK's timeline on this thread is a regurgitation of Josh's version. As I said, at my earliest opportunity I will put a corrected version of TIMELINE A back online, with a literal transcription of the PCSO document.

Going back to Spring Break and PUSD schedules, I keep forgetting to mention this point- but answering nekogrrrl's post finally reminded me:

The Sharps' funerals were held just after the murders. I'm not certain when Dana's was held and, given circumstances, I'd bet his was the last one held to allow time for all the arrangements to be agreed on and finalized. Then again, from what I've seen from personal accounts, a church ceremony is remembered, but no cemetery ceremony, so arrangements for his church service may also have been rather straightforward.

The Sharps funeral was held the Wednesday or Thursday after the crime- I don't recall off the top. Enough people seem to remember the funerals, so all they need to do is recall if school was out that week for Easter Break, or if they got out of school to attend.

Dmac, in your above post you mentioned Mike M. that Chuck said might have seen him and Henry in Keddie around 4:00a.m. - could this be Michael M. the "devil worshipper" that Jan Albin mentioned (important to note that he denied witchcraft - so we do not know why she thought that)? He obviously was friends with Arthur J. and for some reason - if this is the same guy- did not deny knowing Chuck - only that he did not remember if he saw them or not in Keddie that morning. He is mentioned several times in the Chronoligical Timeline.
